Ended up going Daisy > Thurlow with Goodes to mids, Mayes > Fyfe

I could also do something along the lines of:

More tempted by the first option due to M.Jones have his bye in Round 12 and hopefully being a bridge to Cotchin. Robinson's round 13 bye fits in nicely with my forward structure. Assuming first option, team will look like this going into Round 9

Trying to plan these bye rounds is messed up. You should see my calculations, they are massive! Best I'm seeing so far (barring no injuries) is no zeroes in rounds 11 and 12, but 3 zeroes in round 13.

Think I'll trade Ellis in now and before his round 11 bye trade him out again. He'll rise 60k in that time hopefully, then I can pick up Birchall for not much more than 350k. I realise they have the same bye, but it looks like I will have few issues in the first bye week and a lot after that. Happy to trade in Birch knowing he won't play that week, if that makes sense at all.

If you were silly enough to jump on Birchall thinking he will score 100+ every week, you were slightly deluded. He averages 90 and really is nothing special. He also played GWS, he rested while playing like many others. Think Watson when Essendon played GWS.

I assume those who sideways traded Hartlett last week will do the same for Birchall. While the rest of the competition has upgraded/downgraded and trading in premos, you will be stuck with the practically the same team as two rounds ago.

Not even close to 90 last few weeks. Maybe you have persuaded me to keep the faith though...

But seriously am I crazy for trading Naitanui in? He's so cheap and posted two decent scores in his first two full games back. He'll probably end up being the 2nd ruck in the second half of the year (Leuenberger has been solid for his price, but unless he picks up and starts averaging 90s, with the amount of trades we have, he'll probably find himself out of the team). I doubt there will be an opportunity to get him cheaper as well.

Definitely not. Have considered him seriously. Only thing that has led me off him is having the round 12 bye. With Kennedy, Bartel and SJ all sharing that in my forward line (and assuming a fair few others), it might get awkward around bye times. I have Cox and Goldstein in the rucks as well, both Round 12 byes, so DP doesn't serve a purpose for those rounds.

For those reasons Robinson is looking more likely for me (and for the fact he is my favourite player )

Last year I spent hours on it. This year my team is so rubbish that I'm going to take it as it comes. If I get 10 donuts than whatever I can still go to the vent thread and blame Birchall or Hartlett.
