Looking like a boost week.

M Reid - HH
Lalor/prior - Buss/Lorenz/Fonti
Flynn/SPP - Bont

Yep, I know Bont is top $$ , but it’s either him or Butters, Neale, don’t like his finals semi final match up or Brayshaw.

I just figure get Bont, as I’ll be getting him later in the year, how much cheaper will he realistically get? 40k maybe?

Unfortunately I’m lacking the testicular fortitude required but I’m having a serious look at Heeney this week.

Great run up to the byes, nice finish to the year and only 5 games v current top 8 sides for the rest of the season (4 of them in Sydney). Will be watching closely this weekend.
Not the worst buy but I recall a podcast saying he has I think an ankle issue that’ll never heal so he’s always a risk to get rested

Not-so-Piggy Oliver isn't coming back this week, is he? I should've traded him last week. Good news is I went early on Buss and so now don't have to chase that glorious score of 4 this week. 😅

Davidson to HH
Flynn to Marshall
Oliver to Warner / Petracca

looks pretty good to me. Keeps $100k-ish in the bank for next week too. Uses my last boost though.

Is it worth trading Moraes > Box and Cerra > Merrett?

Or even Moraes > Box and Bice > Warner?

🤔

Cerra BE is 138. There is a case to boot him this week.

I'll probably hold him and hope he gets a spike game again to make.some.cash and be about $500k around his bye.

Oliver's playing this week, but I'm still not against anybody trading him. Not a keeper

Ironic given your comments preseason on him not bursting out of the blocks.

I love the guy, but IMO no one should trade in a player at 690k. Even 620k is a stretch. Just burns too must cash. Butters and Bont in the same boat. Buy low is the game.
That is why Mid Priced Madness is the only way to play.
Everyone started with Oliver and knew the risks.
Other $400k players have gone up to say $500-550 but look like slowing down going sub 100’s too much.

These guys were always stepping stones for me for when guys like Butters, Naicos and The Bont hit the ground with some punishing scores.

The ceiling on these 3 is too high to ignore they can easily smash 150 plus games any week. Also if you average out their poor games they still come out above 100 so much better than holding plodders like Cerra and Oliver, I could add others to the list like Rowell or the flavour of the week Chad Warner.

Buying Low is great for finishing sides once you have the Top Guns, but some guys no matter what won’t go sub $600k and others could break $700k and sit between those two price points for a while, maybe all season.

We were gifted this season with almost a set and forget cheap forward line.
And those who just went for Xerri & Gawn the beautiful bald bearded one. Rucks are getting what they paid for.

This cost was having to go cheaper in defence with more rookies to play which one this week with, and more mid-pricers in the mids.
Me I only have Dawson left from my starting mids who now has gone from M1 to M5 in the pecking order.

Last week I got a reasonable but not amazing 2494 with 5 on-field scores below 65 and a few (another 5) in the 80’s range. Thats the power of these $600-700k players.

Some may luck out and get 2600’s some weeks by buying and filling their sides with $400-550 guys who have dropped cash like $100k or more, but these players also cry about never again when their team scores less than 2250 as those players drop 50-70’s which is what others rookies are doing.

It is why I am ok with maybe not getting to a full upgraded side except for Mids as Lashcrofts and Reids and Clearys and Trainors fill fielded spots, as I may be forced to do all season long, as long as they sit besides the right uber Premo’s to cover those 50 point games.

I understand the risk of not getting to fully upgraded side but at least I will have the game breakers and less plodders from this point of the season onwards.

With 19 trades left I want 5 saved post bye rounds, for injuries or late season rested players not in the race for a finals spot.

So that gives me 14 trades to get 3-4 more Uber Mids and one or two Defenders. One or two Mids may have to be DPP’s for insurance one Defender and one Forward, hopefully I can get to have one as a bench rider at M9 but I doubt that will happen.

Both good options (I already own Merrett and likely to grab Warner myself this week). But depending on your team and number of trades situation, I’d probably just get the rookies off field and go option 2.

Can also understand the reasons for jumping off Cerra this week

That's a pretty good summary and somewhat akin to my playbook.

My main two problems are that I waste a lot of trades on rucks and hold on to my midpricers too long

I have 19 trades left too and need to get 7 uber premos in with 14 trades somehow - the biggest challenge is cash gen!

Has anyone thought about Matt Kennedy? 5/8 over 90. Would be an uber POD. Any cons to this pick?

Con's are the squeeze in the Dogs midfield. Treloar not yet up to speed, Bont back Libba, Richards, Freijah etc.

A lot of that average was built without Bont and Treloar.

Have all 3 of Stewart, Short and Bice.
Not sure who to bin

Stewarts been infuriating and have held thus far hoping he comes good but not convinced

Bice probably has to go next week unless he scores 100+

Short is a bum, trade him to a good player is my advice.

Assume you have them all on field, so you need to upgrade, downgrade them though.
