Fair enough, though a 74 BE isn't catastrophic.

Look, if you've got a plan and it gets you a premo for cheap with a low BE, go for it I suppose. Just wondering if a small price drop for Prior would be worth you potentially getting stuck with one less player across the byes (and cash generator) when there are already so many dead rookies floating around.

In most cases I agree with this and I would just wait a week. But I am very high on Marshall and Warner picks so I am just going to gamble on Fonti at this point. If it backfires I just cop it. Fortunate enough I haven't suffered weekly long term injuries this year so I think I am up 1-2 trades from the general field.

Considering these 2 options, if going option 1 will get Sinc next week. I'm a bit warmer on Zork than most not super concerned when Coleman returns and think he can do 105ish. Has a nice run.

Safer play is prob option 2 but Sinc will be cheaper next week so not sure which way to go.

Boxshall - Pou / Clark / ... impact
Brock - big risk he doesn't get games when Gov, Allan come back
Hayes - first game, Russian roulette going early again and again (get the Ridley thing)
Day-Wicks - ditto
Hardemann - looks good, but North hard to predict, exxy
Fonti - need to see final squad, only played one.
Still my preference if necessary.

Might just go none of them, could just piss off Moore for the Pou and take a flyer on him

if box not sub im going early on him as we play WC next week

box played good in the pre season game against carlton and had some time on cripps, which prompted many here to have him in their initial side before kicking him when he wasnt an early starter

need 1 down to get davidson up to zerrett , only other one that interests me is gross this week downwise but late games a bummer

Stewart just has to go.

I like the look of Zorko and think he presents very good value at $500k. KC is due back soon but Zorko's scored fine with him in the team before. I'm not concerned about their many mids as Z gets most of his points in the defensive third.

And Hustwaite has to come in as I didn't get him last week. The contenders to be traded out are Lashworth, Lindsay and Tsatas. Although he has only made me $26k, I think I have enough trades (24) to get rid of Tsatas. If he can't get a run in this shitty undermanned Bombers side then I don't hold up much hope for him.

Unfortunately this means Soligo gets another run. I'm not using a boost on that prick. Hopefully he doesnt lose too much more cash and is a pathway to an uberpremo come the byes.

I have to upgrade. This is where i get stuck with a bench full of donuts because i go early
You don't have to, though. Seeing so many people go early on speculative rooks in order to make a marginal upgrade like Flynn to Warner, Cerra/Daniel to another premo or something silly like TDK to Gawn.

In all of those instances, there's every chance the player being traded out outscores the one being traded in this week, for the price of:
  • Bringing in a potential dead rookie who may not even make any cash (which will also leave people short across the byes)
  • Turfing an uninjured player who is still scoring well
  • Extending the cycle of going early - those grabbing Box/Fonti, if it pays off, are going to have less options next week and quite possibly find themselves in the same situation in a few days' time.
Look, I get it if you have a non-keeper with an astronomical BE (and if your bench is looking pretty solid currently), but it really isn't the end of the world if you need to hold for a week. Worst case scenario if you hold - lose ~50-70 points (a likely overestimation) from an extra rookie on-field, worst case scenario if you go early on somebody who doesn't even get a price rise and is a dead rook as we approach the byes.

I will admit that I'm probably up on my pedestal a bit as I didn't go early on HH last week so don't have to make the call, but I can just see so many people getting to the byes with 5-6 dead rookies which is going to make finishing teams (well) extremely difficult.
