It will be a massive youth drive from here on in. The reason they booted Wallace this early is that he would have won them another 6 or seven games and losing them the really early draft picks.

So if you have the likes of Bowden, Brown, McMahon........look out.
 
Am really hoping that Kornes misses this week. Not sure what to do with him and would make my decisions easier. Plus a rest might help his shoulder and he could come back and score well

If Houlihan gets picked (unlikely) this will also make my decisions easier

My options are:

Suban > Broughton ( a no brainer)

Then i could do:

Houlihan to Grimes (leaving me with enough cash to upgrade 2 midpricers next week)

Or Houlihan to Waite (completing my backline)

Or if Houlihan gets picked

Suban to Broughton

Upgrade Rich or Kornes or Krak

Tough week coming up
 
I want to obviously finish the season with the best possible side now I was thinking to get get either Dal Santo (mid) or Chapman (fwd) this week, which means I'd trade either T.Tuck/Masten (mid) or Skipworth/Ziebell?

or do I trade in for a defender? I have Harding, Embley, Adcock, Geary, S.Hill & Petrenko but who would I get?

Oh and I do have enough money in the kitty for the above trades (mid/fwd 1's) so I could do the same with the defenders too

Or do I wait a bit longer....

I'm very keen on getting Grimes, and not just because he's got 2 good Supercoach games under his belt. He's a genuine prospect for the Dees, a high draft pick and while fit, I think will play the remainder of the year. David Schwarz referred to he and Morton as the "two most talented" kids at the club, so Grimes isn't a flash-in-the-pan 2-gamer like some other guys we all jump aboard in Supercoach. *IF* he stays fit, which has been a problem, I think he'll deliver great value as a 7th defender, or at worst make you $200K pretty quickly.

Of course, I am frequently wrong.

I have 13 trades left and 13 definate keepers in my side. Players in red are all trade targets (or will be when/if they peak) but I know I will not be able to trade them ALL out.

I was thinking of going Hill -> Grimes leaving me with $220k
And Maybe Otten -> Sidebottem leaving me with $470k and 11 trades

Then pump that cash into my forward line over the next couple of weeks.

Chornes, Goddard, Newman, Milburn, Petterd, Malceski, Patrenko, Suban, Cheney.

I am willing to make 2 trades this week.

A options i have thought about are...

1 - Milburn > Grimes & Suban > Waite
2 - Suban > Broughton & Petterd > Thornton/Enright/Gilbert???
3 - Petterd>Grimes & Malceski>Gilbee
4 - Petters>Broughton & Maceski>Any Backman I don't already have..??
5 - ????

Any thoughts appreciated!

That seems like a good plan mate. My only worry would be Sidebottom's job security once all of Collingwood forwards return. Some Pies fans might give you a better idea regarding how many games they expect Sidebottom to get.

In your situation whereby you have a lot of 'undesirable' players and only 13 trades left you cannot afford to pick up the premiums that are performing well. Not enough trades and not enough money. What you need to do is to upgrade these players to premiums that are struggling and have lost a lot of value. Players such as Power, Cooney, Didak, Hodge maybe even Fev in a few weeks if you dare, Porps etc etc when they have hit their bottom price. Then you have to hope like hell that they return to form towards the second half of the season.

Another risky plan would be to trade Ablett to Cooney or Power and save yourself 250K that way. You will be getting rid of the best player in the comp but there is a lot you could do for team balance with that cash.

I like option 1 as I think it brings in the best 2 new players of any of the options. Leaves you looking OK for now:

Chornes, Goddard, Newman, Waite, Petterd, Malceski, Grimes, Patrenko, Cheney

If you could still aford it you could lose Petrenko instead of Suban?

Thanks. If I was to go option 1 and get rid of Patrenko instead of Suban I wouldn't be able to afford Waite but, could get Scotland/Birchall/Duffield/Thornton/Enright/Gilbert

What do you think? I would probably lean towards Gilbert or Thornton maybe.

I like option 3 - Gilbee starting to hit his straps the last two weeks and Grimes looks a great prospect to as a 7th defender.

I think Waite is a gun so I'd lean that way - you'd have to use Suban the only risk being that Petrenko gets dropped

As Perfect Pussies suggested, Gilbee is another option. Either way, get Grimes I reckon
 
What do people think is the better trade?

Ziebell to porplayzia, costs around 60 k

or Mitch Brown to Porps? costs around 140k

wouldnt mind having ziebell as a higher scoring emergency than Brown, but costs me an extra 80k, worth it or not?

There's been a fair amount of talk already about these guys, so forgive me adding to it. Need to fix my backline pronto. Currently this:

Possible trade outs this week:

Malceski, Hill, Raines, Petrenko, (Suban?)

Trade ins:

Grimes, Broughton, Gilbee (?)

This is stage one- as much about revenue raising as anything else. The players who don’t get cut this week will most likely be cut the following week, and upgraded to guns.

I’m worried about dropping Raines before his third game, even though he played like a clown on the weekend and is a good chance to drop in value, but perhaps he was just rusty and will come out firing this week (if he’s named). Malceski had a cracker of match in the magoos last week, so perhaps the relegation has helped him regain focus. Petrenko should go, but of course he makes me the least amount of cash. Hill & Suban I’m tempted to hold onto merely because they are up against North this week, who are somewhat depleted at the moment and should have their hands full elsewhere. Hill will probably drop in value though, which is not good.

Once I’ve raised the cash I can then grab the guns next week. The one kicker about that is there are a couple of likely targets who should go up a decent amount by then, which could bring my careful plan unstuck. Gilbee is one- almost $30K if he hits his average (quite possible since they’re playing the Cats- he’ll have a bit to do down back one would think…). There are a few others I'm after, but he’s the one with the biggest potential price hike.

So- I’m stuck between grabbing a couple of good cows (including one possible keeper) before they rise in value and grabbing only one and a genuine gun. This is not to stop me from grabbing Gilbee next week, but I’m worried about how much more it will cost me.

Goddard Drummond Cornes Gilbert McPhee Cheney Broughton
EM Houlihan Suban

Im thinking its essential to get grimes in your team at this point, so could go: Suban to Grimes pocket the 50k
and then upgrade houlihan to backman less than 500K ie. Gilbee, Newman.

or Houlihan to Grimes and leave it at that and pocket the cash?

Thoughts? Opinions?

Munky, if you think malceski is gonna come back and fire up then your weak back 3 of Raines, malceski, Hill doesnt look too bad. obv looking to upgrade that at some point.
If you are looking for cash this week, and Raines is named, i would go Hill to Grimes and Suban to Broughton. 300-350k is the minimum you would want to gain from 2 downgrades, but at least you are getting 2 very good players into your team (injury free that is)

i reckon Houlihan to Grimes sounds better out of those options.

Which leaves me with:

5 Premiums + Clarke/Grimes
3 Premiums + Foley/Hasleby/Rich
2 Premium rucks
5 Premiums + Krakouer/Ziebell

Looking to trade out Malceski and Houlihan (depending on if named,) but can't find anyone to get. Have about $30,000 and 16 trades left :)
At the moment I'm thinking I may do Houlihan/Malceski to Cheney.

Leaving me with
Goddard, Cornes, Gilbee, Adcock, Hill, Broughton, Grimes
EMG RH/NM, Cheney

Then I'm thinking the other of NM/RH to X Ellis when he gets back.
