Now we need a coach to take us to the next level. You clearly struggle when the acid is on. They were there for the taking. They had low confidence.

No real positives. Sick of seeing our middle age players being so weak. We get so exposed against any half decent opposition. We're predictable, soft and have our head in the clouds most of the time. Need to get back to some fundamentals and learn how to lay a tackle, kick efficiently and LEARN TO GIVE A BLOODY SHEPARD. The amount of times I've seen a richmond player handball to a dude to another player in a close vicinity and allow his man to let him run by and smash him. Seriously get some team orientated play about yourselves...just a weak effort tonight. Outplayed and out-coached. Same old predictable soft richmond. We will not make a finals for years at this rate

I've said it before and no doubt others have,But we'll never win these BIG games with the likes of Mcguane,King,Nahas,White all playing in the side.It makes it so easy for the opposition to plan and sit on our better players.Why can't our coaching staff see it?

Lonergan has to go. Especially if we aren't going to play him as an inside mid.

Nahas and White should be dropped but we don't have much to come in.

Not disappointing just obvious we have a bad coach I used to stick up for him but he plays our players to their weaknesses not strengths. Cotchin is no captain he can't handle the weight give it back to Newman until Vlastuin is ready.

I've never been more ashamed of our club we are a bunch of downhill skiers and the coach is the same we should go after the Scott coaching North he would turn us into a hard winning team.

As for changes Hardwick first then players.
Lonergan stole a game off Arnot who I believe will be a player. Vickery for Stephenson, Nahas for McDonough, Grigg for Ellis.

Our Backline was fantastic tonight which just indicates how shit the coach and the rest of our players were! If we lick it around like that again ill consider quitting its just not what I want to see as a fan.

Lonergan had second most amount of CPs for Richmond, equal most amount of tackles, third most clearances. It wasn't that bad a game up until his brain fade at the end. However, that is his biggest problem. I have never seen another player get pinged for holding the ball more than Lonergan. Not the quickest decision maker going around.

Considering it is his first game for Richmond, and he's coming off a recent injury, wasn't too bad of a game.

This thread will go completely nuts no doubt, BUT... we got absolutely smashed tonight, our worst performance for the year, but I keep looking at the score and see it's only 29 points. I confirms for me, we're a top 6 to 8 side, but still a couple of years of being a top 4 side.

Others will want 20 players sacked, and Dimma sacked etc etc etc, but you guys need to realise we're still two years off being a top 4 side.

We were lucky it was only 29 points. Essendon had our measure all night.

Yes because our backline players won their one on ones then had to chip it around because some idiot thought it was a better idea than attacking their throat.

Also why was Watson not worn like a glove he was literally the 30 point difference. I also think Stephenson is a better center bounce ruckman than Maric.

Agreed, looked like one of very few blokes having a genuine crack at it. Bit of a brain fade with the jetta tackle, but it doesn't suprise me given our lack of run throughout the ground tonight.

I'm sure they do, the issue is the quality of the backup/depth is still a year away from taking over.

It makes sense to me know why some posters said at the start of the year why 2014 was the year we'd most likely make our move as a club.

We might makes finals this year, but again, I'm starting to think next year is the real big one.

Spot on. I'm not one of the posters who have lost all faith in Dimma, but these sorts of games where the players are taking stupid actions that go against their natural instinct and it puts us in a hole shake the foundations of my confidence.

We lost this at match committee going with that 'no run from the back' game plan. Got smashed in the middle and frankly dont like hard and tough. Too many passengers including our supposed guns. Thought chaplin,rance and vloss did ok but the rest ordinary. No run at all, looked tired, disinterested, no dare and no grunt. refused to run both ways maybe too tired trying something different. Really disappointed tonight.

Worst for a long time.

With Hawthorn, Swans, Geelong, Freo, West Coast and Collingwood in front of them I think Essendon are a top 6 - 8 side. We on the other hand are a 9th - 11th side.
Reality sucks.

Any campaigner that wants Batchelor out has no ****ing idea he murdered (in a good way) every fair chance he had against a forward. His skills are good as well focus more on the midfielders who sucked Dick.

McGuane gave effort, more than Vickery did anyway. Problem is that all 3 talls go for the same ball and clog the forward line up. Edwards will actually make a lead or two!
