Vlastuin for mine looked out of sorts tonight. Wasn't willing to chase to often.

Chipping it round the back line........ players should be shot for that.

Brisbane showed up tonight against the Blues as well, I think they only lost by 3 goals. They aren't that bad of a team. On our game though, poor effort by our side and credit to the Bombers for winning.

With our continued losses to potential finals contenders I'm not feeling all too bright about this year.

We need the alignment with Coburg to end. Until we start fielding our own VFL side our players will struggle adjusting coming in. Just look at the stand a lone sides in the VFL - Collingwood, Geelong & now Essendon & how successful they r. We need to spend more money on the football department.

Nahas has to go, no questions asked, he's simply not up to to the standard we require. Nor is Whitey I'm sorry to say.

Dusty had two bad misses in the second quarter, and that poster in the last.

Vlastuin is unbelievable, for a 19 yo in his 3rd game, WOW.

It annoys me how people jump of Lids after a bad game. I just question whether our expectation is a touch higher than his ability?

My opinion is that we were shit tonight. So terrible. Gameplan sucked hard. We've been doing it a little bit in our last two weeks and this week we did it for 3 quarters of the match. It was terrible to watch and we never looked like winning after kicking the first goal. At least against Collingwood and Geelong, we had patches where we played alright footy. Tonight we looked slow, tired, uninspired and without a good gameplan at all.

I will say this though - players on here get off lightly and others a bit too harshly.

Our "worst" players were better on the night. In my opinion, Nahas, McGuane, Jackson, Rance, Newman all weren't too bad. Newman, Rance and Jackson were very good. At least they had a crack where it looked like some players effort on the ball and at the player was INSIPID. McGuane may not be the best player to watch, but he tried when the forward entries were terrible all night. Nahas we all know isn't that quick but correct me if I'm wrong if he wasn't out best small forward tonight? At least he had a dip. No, that wont win a flag, but he wasn't as bad as what I'm reading as to 'never play AFL again'.

Players who were terrible tonight were King, Martin, Deledio, Maric, for example. These guys yet again didn't perform against one of the better sides in the comp when we rely on them to.

Still really disappointed in the gameplan though. Was horrible to watch and didn't even work. Barely even broke the shackles for 10 minutes to see if something else would work. Plan B was none existant.

Wow.pretty ordinary game. We were pretty lucky IMO that the bombers were average too because we could've been pantsed.
When we play with constant movement we are dangerous. When we don't we are horrid.
Credit needs to go to Essendon for stifling us early though.
Very forgettable footy match.

I really had a feeling that tonight it'll come together for us, I couldn't believe the way we played, the game plan, it was just shit. One massive let down, then again I'm used that with this club don't know why I'm so surprised.

I know it's not right to blame one player for a loss... But **** it! His momentum sapping shit in the first half single handedly cost us 2 goals and directly lead to 2 Bummers goals, those little **** ups destroyed my life on so many levels.

My thoughts:

- Nahas needs to go. Not good enough.
- Why wasn't Jackson tagging Watson? There isn't a better match-up in the league for Jackson!
- Why wasn't Lonergan played in the centre more often? He was constantly ahead of the ball on a flank. He had 12 clearances for Coburg! Play him where he's effective!
- Chaplin, Newman, Jackson all had great games.
- Grigg did not break out of a jog AT ALL this game. It was insipid.
- Cotchin. You're a good player, but there were several passages of play where he just pointed at people who needed to man up while jogging back without an opponent. You're the captain, Trent. YOU man somebody up.
- Horribly coached. Chipping backwards isn't our style. If we switch play, people up the ground need to actually lead at the ball. If not, you're back to square one.
