4 points and no injuries.

Job done.

Nine other teams will wish they had this result. Some excessively negative posters in this thread.
Disagree completely.

We as a team have become happy with 'doing enough'. Our standards should be higher than that.

We're such a fckng piss weak side when we keep going backwards.
Can almost guarantee one fckng half arsed kick and oppo kicks a goal
We did what we had to and killed the game? Cant have it both ways, if we kept attacking and gunning it forward it gives Adelaide a look at a run of goals in a shootout. If they don’t want to press us to win the ball back then that’s on them.

A win is enough - if you keep winning percentage matters little.

And if we miss out due to percentage then we're not good enough anyway.

If you are already in the top 4 or 2, yeah sure. But we arent and we have too much recent history on just missing out to look back at.

sh*t win got challenged by a basket case and did enough to humble ourselves. Currently 7th should be 3rd or 4th.

Completely agree. The bulldogs game is one of those which someone has to lose. Should've beaten the Saints. Even if we lost both of those, if we put away Port, Collingwood and Adelaide we're 4th or 5th.

5 goal win with half the side either back for their first game in a few weeks or still missing. Regardless of the opposition we just need to keep ticking off the W’s until the bye. Plenty of opportunities for % when our full side is out there.

Adelaide kicked 46 from forward half intercepts and we’re still piss farting around with the ball in the back half. Defies sense.

Lacked the killer instinct or have less legs.

We look like world beaters when aggressively moving the ball foward, quickly, to the best forwardline in the AFL. Yet we spend so much time drifting around our halfbackline chipping it around, backwards its hideous footy. Simmo is losing me with this s**t.

Pretty much we better beat Norf by 100

We also lost very winnable games late in both seasons that cost us top 4. The % costing us top 4 narrative is a little over the top. We had our opportunities with wins and blew it, % was irrelevant as we weren’t good enough based purely on that Hawthorn game and the Bulldogs game last year

Vs who? After bye games vs Richmond, Bulldogs, Sydney @ SCG. Also have Brisbane and Melbourne in last 3 rounds. Would be acceptable going 3-2 through those 5 games winning all at home and losing away and going at 100% percentage.

Yeah but Geelong lost to Carlton last year yet still made top 4 because they had heaps of %. Having heaps of % is like having an extra win so you can afford to lose 1 game with % and not drop off much

Exactly this.

We win the Hawthorn game and % was not relevant. We squeak by the Dogs and % is again not relevant.

It's a narrative constructed by people unhappy that no AFL side can go hammer and tongs for four quarters. The coaches and players know it's a long season, I am happy we just turned it on for one quarter to win comfortably and hopefully save ammo for a crunch game next week. And of course, no injuries - that is far more likely to derail a premiership tilt than a couple of %.

Well beaten for contested ball and the opponent has 8 more forward 50 entries - yet win by 5 goals.

Still sorely missing our best contested midfielders and the selection was too tall once again - bank the win, move on and be glad there are no additions to the injury list.

Ryan if fit should come in at the expense of a tall next week which will help with team balance.

Cripps today may have played his best match since 2018.

Do you get a single sceric of joy out of being an Eagles supporter? Don't think I've seen you post on this board and it not be a complete whinge.

I am highly critical but I post positive thoughts when positive actions are performed
