Dunno what anyone else reckons, but I thought the standard of football displayed across round 9 was about as poor as I can remember. Turnovers, fumbles and endless rugby scrums seemed to be the order of the weekend; and it wasn't as if the games were played in atrocious conditions either.

Thankfully there were a few close encounters to keep a bit of interest going.

Umpiring was carp too. What is it happens that makes them collectively put there whistles away?

Better than the umpires seemingly paying 100 free kicks a game like they appeared to do earlier in the season.

I've told you a million times not to exaggerate, Dan. I think they may have cracked the half-ton once or twice. Anyway, if they do pay that many frees, and they're correct, and it helps to open up the game, where's the problem? Better than watching 50 ball-ups.

that Swans game today, was the worst AFL game i have seen in the past 5 years.

The standard was so ordinary, as to defy belief. It was like watching Second Grade in the Sydney AFL competition.

It was very evident that we were watching two sides, very much out of form.

Can't speak for any other games, as i only saw parts of the Carlton/Roos match, and missed all of yesterdays matches.

Didn't you see the mark of the year that was taken in round 9?

...and round 10 continues the trend.

I thought Australian Rules was supposed to be an entertaining sport.

It's this new tactic that been designed to counter Essendon's dominance. As an Essendon supporter, i am in for some boring games for the remainder of the season.

yes...the trend does continue...and it is set to continue beyond this week
