Messi wins the World Cup, Ronaldo cracks the sads and runs off to join a league nobody's ever heard of. If there was ever any doubt over the greatest player of the modern era debate, there isn't anymore.

Alot of money.... 🤔 But why? Guess he didn't have many other offers...
WC showed he probably wont play a full game too often. He will now, if he wants to, and he is getting paid about 8 to 10 times what others would offer, given the commercial deal component.

Supporters of Roma and Napoli have been banned from attending away matches for two months after they clashed at a service station on Sunday, forcing the brief closure of a motorway. Napoli ultras - travelling to Genoa for their side's match against Sampdoria - threw stones and smoke bombs from the side of the road at Roma fans.

The Roma supporters, heading to their team's Serie A match against AC Milan, stopped to retaliate with the clash spreading to the service station forecourt in Tuscany. Police had to briefly close the A1 motorway, a key road which links the north and south of Italy

Serie A side Salernitana appointed a familiar face as their new coach on Wednesday, bringing Davide Nicola back to the club only two days after sacking him.
Nicola was relieved of his duties on Monday, a day after a chastening 8-2 defeat at Atalanta, but club president Danilo Iervolino took the remarkable step of recalling him to the position on Wednesday to give the coach “another chance”.

Serie A giants Juventus have been docked 15 points following an investigation into the club's past transfer dealings, Italy's football federation (FIGC) has confirmed. The FIGC says Juve used transfers to artificially boost their balance sheet. Juventus had been in third place but the penalty will drop them to 11th.

The sanction comes after the club's board of directors, including president Andrea Agnelli and vice-president Pavel Nedved, resigned in November.

Saudi Arabia offered to pay for new sports stadiums in Greece and Egypt if they agreed to team up with the oil-rich Gulf heavyweight in a joint bid to host the 2030 football World Cup, POLITICO can reveal. In exchange, the Saudis would get to stage three-quarters of all the matches, under the proposed deal.
The dramatic offer — likely worth billions of euros in construction costs — was discussed in a private conversation between Mohammed bin Salman, the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in summer 2022, according to a senior official familiar with the matter.
A second senior official with knowledge of private discussions on the bid told POLITICO that Saudi Arabia is prepared to “fully underwrite the costs” of hosting for Greece and Egypt, but 75 percent of the huge 48-team tournament itself would be held in the Gulf state.

If FIFA takes it away from South America, I fear a boycott.

Not saying its good, but this proposal definitely makes a lot more sense than Qatar.
