I can't watch more then about ten minutes of soccer without the aid of beer but I'm very interested in the business of soccer. In Italy one of the big stories this year is the decline of the Milan giants. Both missed out on the Champions League last year and they continue to struggle.

I guess I'm really interested in AC Milan because it's sport science facility is famous around the world. If they can keep it going no doubt it will help prevent them from sliding too far.

Adidas pays for a fair chunk of the MilanLab running costs. Berlusconi isnt short of a Euro or three and they have started branching out into selling their services. Set up a London practice a couple of years ago.

Rubbish team, should have aimed higher. Like Southampton.
Why would anyone want to watch that flash in the pan

They'll be raided again in the summer and have no one to play against Adelaide

They won't be losing anyone if they hold their spot
We managed to lose Suarez (probably not a great example) after finishing a bees dick from a league title. Teams like Soton can't compete with rich European football playing teams in wages. Don't tell me you can replace them with CL revenue either, since while I have berated Liverpool's weird purchase of youth and abhorrent shit like Lovren, we couldn't even attract a want away Alexis Sanchez or Marco Reus to fill the Suarez void.

Schneiderlin will probably be off, Clyne maybe too. Alderweield is a loan.

Who knows though - I have learned that getting into the CL placings and staying in there are totally different things this season.

Absolutely, they'll never stay long term because they aren't a big enough club, but them sneaking in even once would continue to drive that wedge between the big clubs and a monopoly on the Champions League places.

It's difficult to maintain a top 4 place but look at Atletico last year, stealing the La Liga title from the two biggest clubs in the world.

It's probably more difficult to accept for a Liverpool fan but the Premier League is much more interesting now that the long big top 4 has been breached.

Debt ridden Atletico, who still had to rid themselves of their best striker and fullback after winning the ****ing league. Great pull like winning the league has landed them stars like Fernando Torres.

Don't kid yourself, anyway, the big 2 in City and Chelsea will win the league for the next 100 years

Atletico winning the league given the European football financial climate in 2014 gives just about every club hope.

Yes, Chelsea and Man City have the next few league titles wrapped up, but both rely on a megarich owner who won't necessarily always be there.

Even if the top 6 or 7 stay the same, every year a club like Arsenal or Man U miss the Champions League they are weakened and the gap back to the peleton closes just a little bit.

Perhaps, but perhaps those owners will be around a while. They've both actually made huge investments in the clubs - Eddie Dingle will let you know about City's at every opportunity.

I'll let you hold onto that false hope anyway, I mean your team has scored like 4 goals this season.

I can't personally remember the last time we scored, but we did return from Anfield with 3 points this season.

Actually forget everything i've said because FFP has ruined football by keeping rich clubs rich and poor clubs poor.

Any chance of anything being shaken up is reliant on that devious piece of shit of rule being canned.

Didn't you see the corruption report by FIFA into FIFA

They're going swimmingly.

This coming from Aston Villa fan... lolworthy. Your team has scored the least goals in all of UK atm. even the bottom placed league 2 (Hartlepool) team has scored more goals than AV

tfw i'm now a villa fan

just kill me

Um if we can just remind Stermy that Villa exist and statistically should score a goal any day now we have a holy triumvirate of Port/Villa supporters.

I assure you it's no more or less disappointing than being a Liverpool supporter in 2015, although your innate ability to steal DVD players will fall away.
