Round ball code talk

Great game. Shades of 1967 and 1973 v South Korea. Gotta play them in a cut throat game in a WC one day.

Ange coached sides like to win grand finals in extra time or injury time.

Really rapt for the team and Ange. Thought he was very brave the way he got this team to play and he had so many key injuries leading into the World Cup but he believed in the players and he made them believe.

Very sad that 2 master technicians bow out this weekend. Cadel (forever) and Bresch ( at National level anyway).

Ange has a great record in grand finals.

Played in 2 NSL GF's for South Melbourne and won them.
Coached in 2 NSL GF's for South Melbourne and won them.

Coached in 2 A-League GF's for Brisbane Roar and won them.

Coached Oz in the Asian Cup GF and won tbat.

That's 7 from 7 GF's. Gotta get iinto a GF of a few more internatilonal tournaments. I think the next one would be the Confederations Chqmpionship in 2017 representing AFC against fhampions of other Confederation.

So what you're saying is that Ange is no Ross Lyon? :-)

Will the Hindmarsh crowd start singing Una Miguel Palanca?

C'mon admit it, you know which song I am referring to ;)

Tim Cahill going to play for Shanghai must be about post career business opportunities. He will have massive opportunities if he becomes a star in the Chinese league and plays there for 3 years or so and can bring them some silverware. He was a star in the UK, in NY city and here in Oz. He has a pretty smart advisor mapping out his future. As I posted last week, he has to be encouraged to play on to the 2018 WC.

Very poor result that could prove costly seeing as we were right behind Perth for top spot, dominate for 3/4 of the match then Marrone gives away a dumb handball penalty & they score a soft winner a few minutes after.

Maybe we should've gone after a decent defender seeing as we're very vulnerable down back at the moment, would've been worse had Ferreira played.

Definitely garbage in the last 15-18 minutes, especially letting rosé score the winner (at least the 4th time he's done it against us) again. Really hope Boogaard & Carrusca are fit for the Perth visit in 8 days, Marrone should be dropped.

Paul Lambert finally, finally sacked, after we've limped into the relegation zone with 13 games left.

Not a minute to soon.

Hopefully we can be reenergised by a new manager and start to pick up some points, we definitely have the talent.

12 goals for the season in February? How does this happen?

12 goals for the season in February? How does this happen?

In Lambert's first two seasons we scored pretty freely but were super leaky at the back. We'd lose games 3-2 and 4-2 etc.

This season he went on a fact finding mission and visited Pep Guardiola at Bayern, and we changed to this highly possession based football, where possession seemed to be all that mattered.

And we got really good at retaining the ball, and our defence improved out of sight. Before losing 5-0 to Arsenal, we were 4th or 5th in the league in defence.

But we didn't have players who were capable of creating chances while playing that possession style. Agbonlahor and Wiemann are really good on the counter attack, but not so good when they have to make creative passes and runs and skip past defenders etc. It's a style that Bayern and Barca can use, but we obviously can't because we don't have the players to do so.

We've brought in Carles Gil and Scott Sinclair, but they haven't settled in enough. Gil looks really promising though.

So stopped losing 4-2 and started drawing 0-0 or losing 1-0 most weeks, and just couldn't score at all. Now we'll probably break Derby's record and are a massive chance of going down.

Balotelli contributing, Mignolet in hot form, actually beating Crystal Palace...

What a sight.

A good round ball night for me, watched my Bundes team win the local derby with a 90th minute header, then a second half comeback from Liverpool to progress in the cup.

Looking forward to seeing AUFC again play the league leaders, but stupid of the (E)FFA to have it on a 4:30pm Sunday timeslot, especially with a maximum temperature of 39 :(

Was trying to get my tickets during priority period but the password they sent me wasn't working at first, managed to get myself a silver ticket as allocation is virtually sold out for everything else.

Woohoo I'm going to see the Reds vs Reds :D

I've tried to get tickets; but when I put the password in, it says "Not valid at this time. Available from 1:25 pm".
Yeah I think that was for the 'wait list' priority, I had one of those but also had an Adelaide Oval priority code which was supposed to be ready to go at 11am but I couldn't get it working until about 11:20.

There might be some left in each section for your priority but you might want to get on quick as a lot of the plat/gold/silver restricted were sold out I assume the others won't take long either.
