'Keeper tackle breaks player's leg in two places

This is the awful moment Boca Juniors goalkeeper Augustin Orion breaks San Martin de San Juan striker Carlos Bueno's leg in two places with a wild tackle during the two teams' 1-1 draw overnight. And you thought the Steven Gerrard stomp was bad...

Australia finished 2-2 with world champions Germany in their friendly in Kaiserslautern.

Australia led 2-1 in the second half but coughed up an equaliser late in the game.

Goals to Troisi and Jedinak.

Im watching the A League show Extra Time on SBS 2 and they have highlights of the Socceroos and Germany and watching Matthew Leckie it jogged my memory of something I was going to ask in this thread during the Asian Cup.

Is Matthew Leckie the new Mark Viduka for the Socceroos? What I mean by that is that Viduka was a key player but for some reason missed so many goals because of what seemed to be a lot of bad luck. Viduka seemed to hit the cross bar or side post so many times, or the ball went just wide, or the goalie would pull off a great save or deflection or a clever toe poke wasnt firm enough and was saved. He had so many almost moments. Leckie isnt as clean as Viduka but he seems to have so many almost moments near goal where a chance isnt nailed a lot like Viduka experienced. What do others think??

Huge game tonight for the Reds, a win would put is top, but a loss & we can just about kiss goodbye to the Premiers' plate. Gonna have to do it without Carrusca...

I'm back on the bandwagon!! You redskins!!

This comp is tighter than an SANFL budget and twice as frustrating.

The Premiers plate means nothing, Union has to win the whole thing this year.

This Saturday is gonna be just as tough against our 'home bogey' side Brisbane. Surprisingly we've only ever beaten them 4 times at home, with the last win coming over 5 years ago...

It was great to get the result especially after Graham Arnold whinging all night

Our old mate werner will be a happy chappy today after Jermaine Defoe's strike on goal gave them a 1-0 win over Newcastle last night. A very nice strike it was too

That's huge.

Anyway for us, there are really NO excuses for tomorrow, MUST beat a tired Roar outfit, otherwise we don't deserve a top two spot period. Our recent 'home' record against them means diddly squat!!!

Well well well, the top side, the victory just suffered a shock 1-0 home loss against the bottom side Newcastle, absolutely brilliant. :)

Now the Reds can take top spot with a win tomorrow!!!

I am cursed when it comes to attending AUFC 'home' games against Brisbane. Dating back from season 2 (06-07), I've attended nine Reds v Roar games at Hindmarsh for eight losses & a solitary draw. I've decided that in the possible event that we have to again play Brisane at 'home' in the finals, then I will NOT be attending the match period.
