4 teams in the 2 Euro finals are from EPL and no Man City and Man U in that 4. Shows the financial strength of the EPL and deep pool of talent that buys.

The Bosman court case in 1994/95 re player transfers forced the Poms to play more international players as they didn't allow more than 4 or 5 foreign players, but that court ruling said it was against the European Treaty to restrict players plying their trade in Europe, based on nationality restrictions and stopping free movement of players across borders or within leagues.Wonder how it went there from Italy/Spain being the ones with the power?
Before the Premiership the Division One season was played across 42 games do that 4 more than existing . So that's 4 more x likely 3 points given they'd be weaker teams .
You can only do like with like with any accuracy so starts with Premiership .
Many more "easy" wins back then too as Man U and Liverpool had all the financial clout versus the current funding distribution . Yes there are still the mega wealthy , United , City , Arsenal , Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham
( source Forbes 2018) but the tv rights allows all to have plenty of $$

Away goals has decided champions virtually every year in the CL/Euro Cup since the beginning, and throughout all stages of the comp each year. Sure there has been the odd dominate super team that doesn't need them, but its rare.Reality though is only 1 clearly got through being Arsenal
2 in ECL by away goals and CFC in penalty shot out .
Got there but I'd not get too carried away .
Tottenham maybe luckiest team in completions history to get to final

Bosman never saw any financial rewards from the case because it took 3 years and he had retired or on the verge of retiring when the judgement was handed down.
Poms then went buying players, over time the TV $$$, from international sales in particular, but also local TV $$$ sky rocketed. The German's and English have central sharing on TV monies, the Italians and Spanish have club deals for TV. Then the big wealthy foreigners started buying EPL teams - the Yanks, Russians, Middle East and Asians and ploughing in the $$$ as the world globalised.
The last kicker was getting the best coaches from around Europe and South America into the EPL rather than those stodgy old pommie and Scottish coaches. Ferguson being the exception I guess.
Hillsborough tradegy and the subsequent Taylor Report was also important to change to the culture of crowds. The Italians haven't had to go through this to the same extent and they still have hooligans ad lock out games where nobody can attend and crowds are down from an average of mid high 30k's in the early 1990's to mid to low 20k's now. The highest average crowd club was 70k in the 80's and 90's and now its 40's and 50's because they haven't addressed crowd violence issues, women and kids don't go to the same extent as in England and Germany.
Italy has the big 3 - Juventus, and the 2 Milan's, with others have a bit of time in the sun. Spain has the big 2 Barcelona and Real Madrid, with Athletico the only one seriously challenging most years. Germany has the big 1 in Bayern with Broussia sometimes challenging.
The EPL was the big 4 when it started in 1992/93, Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal, but now its the big 6 this decade since the Qatari's ploughed big $$$ into City and pommie investment group ENIC group bought about 20% of Spurs in 2000/01 and by the end of the decade had over 75% ownership.
In the end money talks, so if you can buy the best players, and best coaches, best practice facilities and stadiums, and have run the comp well and keep the $$$ flowing in, at some point you will become the most powerful competition.
My bad, Abu Dhabi sheikhs oil money not Qataris.Qatar has nothing to do with City.
They own PSG.

Perfect timing for them to grab Marco Kurz from under the noses of those fools at The Reds.Muscat gone from Victory (resigned, not dismissed this time though)

Spurs is a huge underdog. Liverpool has much greater institutional experience on this kind of game AND a better team.He Gremio who do you like in the Champions League tonight.Liverpool or Hot Spurs.
I have been at The Valley once. Quite a lovely ground. Great history, too. The club lost it, but the community worked hard to get it back.Haven’t watched much of the latter parts of the English season, don’t watch much EPL anyway, but will try and watch all the playoff finals. I’ll be a Villa fan this weekend, for pretty obvious reasons, and following Charlton in the League 1 game as my Son In Law has a few relies that follow them.
https://www.theage.com.au/sport/soccer/socceroos-to-play-in-2020-copa-america-20190605-p51uop.htmlThe Socceroos are set to test themselves against the might of Lionel Messi's Argentina and Neymar's Brazil when they take part in the Copa America 2020. The invitees for the 2020 edition of Latin America's version of the Asian Cup or European Championship are Qatar and Australia.
The tournament will be staged between June 12 and July 12 next year, jointly hosted by Colombia and Argentina. It will be the last of the annual versions of the tournament as the Copa will, in future, be staged every four years. FFA chairman Chris Nikou, chief executive David Gallop and Mark Falvo, the organisation's head of corporate strategy, international and government relations, are currently negotiating the fine details of the arrangement in France at the FIFA Congress, which is being staged around the Women's World Cup.
"They are trying to finalise the commercial and organisational aspects of Australia's participation," an FFA spokesman said. There had been some concern that the timing of the event in the southern hemisphere winter of 2020 might interfere with Socceroos' World Cup qualifiers, but they have been allayed.
There are only 10 teams in CONMEBOL - Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. Since 1993, two other nations have been invited to play to fill out a 12-team tournament. Japan and Qatar will feature in this year's Copa America, which starts later this month.
The news comes after it was revealed Australia were invited to host the 2020 tournament by CONMEBOL's commercial rights holders, IMG, but ultimately lost out to Colombia and Argentina.
The pools have reportedly been drawn up already - Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela are in one, and Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay in the other. Each pool will include one of Australia or Qatar, who are reportedly the other invitiational team for next year.
If the Socceroos were to be drawn in the second pool, it would mean a tantalising clash with Uruguay, who Australia have faced only once since the fateful World Cup qualifiers in November 2005 at ANZ Stadium.
The top four in each group will advance to the quarter-finals. The knockout phase of the tournament will be played in either Argentina or Colombia, but it has yet to be determined which. A decision will be made in Sao Paulo when the South American Confederation (CONMEBOL) meets on June 13. Qatar, who won the Asian Cup earlier this year and will host the 2022 World Cup, are also participating in the 2019 edition of the Copa America, with Japan the other team from outside South America. China had been considered the most likely second side for 2020's Copa, but Australia got the nod. From 2020, the Copa America will be played every four years, always in even years between the World Cups and parallel to the Euros.
I haven't heard anything yet. And two pools of six teams doesn't sound right...GremioPower did you hear the Socceroos are going to play in the 2020 Copa America as one of the 2 invited teams. They were asked to make a bid to host it.

It is if its being co-hosted by Colombia and Argentina. Has it been co-hosted before? That seems to be the new norm for European championships to give smaller countries hosting rights.I haven't heard anything yet. And two pools of six teams doesn't sound right...
I will ask around about all this. Let's see.
