Round ball code talk

Crystal Palace with zero points after 7 games and a goal difference of -17 are looking at setting a new record for the worst start to an EPL season. At the moment the worst is Portsmouth in 2009-10 who lost their first seven then beat Wolves in their eighth. Palace lost 4-0 to Manchester United in their last game and come up against Chelsea next.

Terrible midfield play with the ball being released in front of two Syria players but terrible defending from number 20 who was running back and looking at the player dribbling the ball instead of moving to his right to cover the eventual goal scorer. He just remained in no-man's land, unable to attack either player.

Tommy Rogic is showing a bit of class so far. 2 beautiful attacking passes that have led to 2 chances including that goal to Cahill.

1-1

That little dinky pass from Milligan would’ve been cut out at most levels but you’re right about the off ball defending. Could injury have been the reason though?

Edit: No injury, I was thinking of Smith but it was Sainsbury.

**** me the ref has picked up an injury and wont officiate extra time. can see the 4th official making a **** up call.

We depend on Tim Cahill saving Australia's arse again to make to extra time after going 0-1 down. Why the **** didn't Ange play Cahill more in all those boring draws and we wouldn't have to go through this 3rd place play off and then CONCACAF 4th placed team stage.

Cahill started tonight didn't he? I wonder if he'll be able to run out an extra 30 minutes - he needs to be on the pitch at the end of extra time to take part in a penalty shoot-out if it comes to that.

Haha 4th official stuffs up an advantage call for Oz in 2nd minute and then gives a red card against a Syrian in the 4th. Socceroos have to win now unless they get someone sent off as well.

Yep he started tonight. About bloody time.

The Socceroos forward set up reminds me of Port. Ange is a stubborn as Hinkley, wont do the obvious re selection, both sides dominate the forward plays and I50's vs shots on goal and both sides miss too many straight forward shots on goal during the season.

If they can't win it from here it would be the biggest choke in....just over a week ;)

That was hilarious.

A Syrian player is rolling around, screaming, holding his knee. Looks at the ref who has no interest in his antics, so said player gets up and runs off.

Should’ve been a card for simulation.

This is as painful as sitting thru extra time against West Coast. Bloody hope a Syrian doesn't do a Shuey.

This is how badly Oz has stuffed up this qualifying series.

Iceland qualifies for 2018 World Cup in Russia, becoming smallest nation to reach tournament
Iceland has qualified for the World Cup for the first time after beating Kosovo 2-0 at home, becoming the smallest nation to ever reach football's biggest international tournament. Keeping the momentum going from its inspiring run to the 2016 European Championship quarter-finals, Iceland topped Europe Group I and advanced automatically to the finals in Russia next year at the expense of favourite Croatia.

Iceland is the smallest nation in terms of population — 330,000 — to make the World Cup.

Gylfi Sigurdsson put the hosts ahead in the first half and Johann Gudmundsson made it 2-0 in the second. Iceland won the group by two points from star-studded Croatia, which beat Ukraine 2-0 in Kiev. Ukraine was third, Turkey fourth and Finland fifth.........

Ok so in about 12 hours the final CONCACAF round is played and find out who we have to beat in November to qualify. Likely to be Panama who play Costa Rica but could be Honduras who play Mexico. If Yanks stuff up against Jamaica and lose they could be our opponent.
