So they've won 2 out of 6? If they lose this one they're approaching Collingwood levels.

1928 doesn't really count. But yes, we would like to even the ledger up by winning this one. On the other hand, we've never lost a semi-final (6/6).So they've won 2 out of 6? If they lose this one they're approaching Collingwood levels.
Why? They were Olympic games.I will always count 1920, 1924, and 1928.
Imagine losing 1-7 in a semi-final at home and then putting your support behind that team in the final a few days later.FINALS
8 - GER
7 - BRA, ARG
6 - ITA
4 - URU(, FRA)
3 - CZE, NED, FRA
2 - HUN
1 - BEL, SUI, SWE, ENG, ESP, HRV(, MAR)
Ah didnt know you were Argentinian. Good luck on the weekend!1928 doesn't really count. But yes, we would like to even the ledger up by winning this one. On the other hand, we've never lost a semi-final (6/6).
Because those were world championships when they were held. Why?

The 1924 Olympics would actually be the event that changed the soccer map forever, but the 1920 Olympics was the first with teams from more than one continent.
The success from the 1924 and 1928 Olympics and the growth of professionalism propelled FIFA to organize its own tournament.
Uruguay only got the right to host the first World Cup because they were the world champions. The 1930 Final was seen as a rematch of the 1928 Final. They were all connected.
Besides, soccer didn’t participate in the 1932 Olympics because the sport had then its own world championship. When it comes back in 1936, it’s no longer the same tournament.

So Belgium has a World Cup in your books?
GOOTPlay a leading role in a World Cup win and Messi probably becomes the undisputed GOAT.

Argentina’s Semis:
1928 - EGY
1930 - USA
1978 - BRA/POL/PER
1986 - ENG
1990 - ITA
2014 - NED
2022 - HRV
This is getting to VFL/AFL levels. I'd rather stick to World cups (i.e. from 1930).They have one World Championship, equivalent to a World Cup.
