Real Madrid and Barcelona are committing a crime against both football and aesthetics with their last renovations.
But an engineering and architectural marvel. Stadiums are now the modern day marvels.

Pyramids ----> Cathedrals ----> Skyscrapers----> Football/Sports Stadiums

There has been some great ones (AO is an example), but I’m not a fan of the current trend.

The vintage era inaugurated by Baltimore’s Camden Yards (baseball), for me, was way better.

So, both Man U and Spurs through to the You-roper Cup final, to be played in sunny Spain. Despite both of them having disastrous EPL seasons, one of them will be rewarded with a place in the Champions League. You just know it will be United - Spurs will either be straight out flogged, or blow it with a 98th minute own goal or penalty. Or lose on penalties after extra time, with the extra time coming after Spurs lose the lead to a 98th minute own goal or penalty.

Baseball and cricket grounds need aesthetics more than football stadiums for the 6 different football codes around the globe.

The pace of those games are more leisurely that the football codes so the aesthetics counts for me.

Its why Adelaide Oval redevelopment was so well done. Keeping the northern end open means its not just another concrete and steel stadium. Plus it had 140 years history of being a cricket ground than an enclosed stadium.

Haha they don't worry about a grandstand roof, for spectators not to get rained on or snowed on.

They have a point, I believe. The most fun I have had in matches were under rain.

Didn't even know the FA Cup was on. As has been discussed in the past this used to be such a big game and I's always stay up and watch it. Was a bit shocked when I heard that this was Crystal Palace's first top division of English football title/cup.

The BBC regulary do these great sports montages. I'm a sucker for them done by host broadcasters after big events.

The Liverpool with better colours won the Opening Tournament in Uruguay. With this result, the club has earned a spot in the Finals and will finish the season at least in the Top-3.

Liverpool is not one of Uruguay’s Big-2 (Nacional & Peñarol), but it has been very successful locally since 2019 — including a national league title in 2023.

10 sport have put up some good tweets about Spurs win and Ange.

He initially said I usually win things in my second year at the start of the season, then later in the season corrected it to, I always win things in my second year. Some footage of journos questioning him about it thru the year and his strong replies.

The player's having fun with his quote correcting himself from usually to always, after the game.

I didn't expect Ange to quote Paul Keating at his presser and I'm sure neither did Keating.

The goal might have put Spurs in front, but this clearance on the line after a stuff up from the goal keeper, says you aren't going to loose this game.

I saw this and thought what about Alex Ferguson - then realised he is Scottish not English. Haha the tweet is by a Scottish Republican who wants independence from the poms.

Football Australia jumps in and lets us know the other Aussies assisting Ange.

Nick Montgomery is a Brit who came and played in the A-League for Central Coast Mariners for 5 years, then came back a few years later and coached them to the 2022-23 Championship ie won June 2023 Grand Final.
