RossFC I pinched your graphics from the World Cup Qualifiers thread on the Soccer board as its easier to just go here to double check the play off groups and who is left in the qualifying matches.

FIFA defending their exorbitantly high prices for World Cup games by saying, 'the money raised will go toward spreading the game in non traditional markets'. I would have thought getting as many people though the gates in the US and Canada would achieve the same objective.

Affordable prices eh? In Los Angeles ticket prices range from US$936 to US$148,000. The most expensive tickets for the entire tournament are US$393,000 in Miami , they must be expecting Mr & Mrs Trump to drop in?

In Qatar in 2022 you could get a Cat4 ticket to the Round of 16 for US$19. That is some price hike.

One journo summed it up perfectly- crazy.

Soccer is the #1 sport in 90% of countries with the biggest non-traditional market being the US. I'm sure channeling a few billion into Trump family businesses will help them crack open this opportunity if the FIFA World Peace Prize isn't enough.

Yes, I had forgotten about Trump's FIFA Peace Prize. Doubtless there will be an arse licking ceremony to invest the great peacemaker with his prize.

You have probably gathered that I am no fan of FIFA . They have not yet satisfied me that they are entirely free from graft and corruption. The 2022 failed World Cup bid, which Australia was never going to win, cost the Australian taxpayer 46 million dollars. On that score I take every opportunity to question FIFA's motives. I suspect that I am no orphan when it comes to FIFA.

If Australia has zero chance of hosting the World Cup because our time zone doesn't appeal to broadcasters that means we may as well not bother putting our hands up. Time zones never seem to bother the IOC as Australia has hosted the Olympics twice and will get a third crack at it in a few years time. Could it be that the IOC is not as money driven as FIFA and that they do not have a Sepp Blatter or a Jack Warner in their ranks? Blatter and Warner are long gone but recent events suggest they may have been replaced.

World game yeah right, but only if the clocks are set to the correct time.

With the World Cup not far away a reminder of when a nation that needed special permission to enter the UK in 1966 - 60 years later 1 or 2 nations might need a similar reprieve from Trump - stunned the world to get out of their group and become the first Asian team to make the quarter finals, and were 3-0 up before losing 3-4. 1966 only 16 teams went to the WC.

Probably have to go back 30+ years to the old NSL days to have a side with 10 of the starting 11 come from the home state and those 10 players have such a young average age.

He's obviously not a real coach, he's talking about winning and moving up the ladder.
Doesn't he understand it's a tough comp and someone has to lose?

Cue well worn Queen song...

Haha I wonder if the new management and Joe Lewis's children, Vivienne and Charles who now have direct involvement with Spurs after they sacked / moved on chairman of 25 years and minority shareholder Daniel Levy in September last year, will go and talk to Ange about coming back??

Levy was an executive chairman and didn't have a CEO. He also was the Sporting Director and Commercial Director. He ran the whole show and that's why Spurs fans came to hate him.

I posted a video in here a few months ago, that the Lewis kids have restructured Tottenham's management after Levy had run the place solely for nearly all of those 25 years. Old man Joe had lived in the Bahamas for the last 30+ years, and Tottenham was the most profitable EPL club, so he let Levy run the place the way he wanted to.

The video explained how the kids were positioning Tottenham to be sold with a CEO and COO and other new management positions in place for a couple of seasons now, to entice a new owner that the right management structure was in place.

Found the post, its on the previous page, and I posted 2 videos, including one by the NY Times Athletics FC podcast and the 2 videos were produced about 10 days apart in October last year.
