Possibly but wouldn't you prefer a genuine KPF line up alongside Daniher, instead of the defender-come-forward we've continually experimented with?
Hooker plays well at both ends. He came to the club as a forward, just like Stewart. And he is an awesome backman. Can't forget his winning goal against Hawks in game last year. Whatever works and is best for the team. Best not to pigeon hole the players.

Yeah get the players into the correct mind set of we are going to tear any opposition apart then, watch the look on Koch's face when we we beat those clowns by 60 points and half their teams injured.

Fantasia hooker laverde
Stratton Frawley Burgoyne
Langford Daniher Parish
Hodge Gibson Birchall
Colyer Watson zaka
Hartung Mitchell smith
McGrath Hurley Goddard
Rioli vickery Breust
Baguely Hartley Gleeson
Puopolo Gunston Sicily
Luey Heppell zerrett
McEvoy shiels O'Meara
Myers walla Stanton Kelly
Burton duryea schoenmakers henderson

I think McGrath will play first round due to Hawks small forwards
Play extra men out of defence just to clog up their speedy fwd line with Daniher leading up to clear the ball and get it one on one with our mid sized fwds.
Langford v hodge all night
No need for 2 rucks with ceglar injured unless we use this as a strategy to run McEvoy out of the game
Would prob go brown or ambrose but ground ball will influence the game more than aerial game and Gleeson and Goddard have the intercept marking ability.
With that starting 18 I'd have Heppell around stoppages than sitting behind the play while parish has the freedom to do whatever and play the extra midfielder.

Ummm Vickery isn't a speedy forward, certainly not.
Sicily on Gleeson is an absolute mismatch and we must have speed on Puopolo.
Therefore Myers on Sicily, Gleeson not sure why he's there, Walla on Puopolo.
That's a good coverage and an attacking team.

Woosha on the Game Plan to Parish on game day.
Woosha: "We want you to out there son and do whatever and play the xtra midfielder".
Parish: "WTF, ok?

Yeah can't forget the goal Hartley booted it was awesome but unfortunately it wasn't a winning one.

Which Mitchell is playing centre for the Hawks? I reckon Ambrose will play and get told to wear Gunston like a glove.

I imagine that's Tom Mitchell, the one they got from Sydney. Sam is now at West Coast and Lewis is a first year player from the speculative end of the draft. I doubt they'd be chucking him in the middle in round 1.

Forgot about Tom. Thought he may be referring to their new guy draftee. Hodge will probably move to the centre.

Tom will be an on baller.

They still have a formidable team.

Wouldn't be playing McGrath any further back than back flank (if he plays). His left is not strong enough.

One mis kick out of deep in defense may see an avalanche of goals coming back over his head after they get their tails up. The darting inward to avoid the left will not work at this level, particularly with guys like Cyril and Puopolo waiting for him.

McGrath could do ok playing wing with gut busting running into space in the forward line.

Play Hurley forward 1st round just to throw them off - he can still run amok up there....;-

Ambrose Hartley Baguley

Gunston Sicily Puopolo
Goddard Hooker Tippa
Breust Vickery Rioli
Parish Heppell Stanton
Hartung T.Mitchell Smith
Zakka Hurley Langford
Stratton Gibson Duryea
Watson Daniher Fantasia
Birchill Frawley Burgoyne

Leuenberger Hocking Z.Merrett
McEvoy Hodge O'Meara

Myers McGrath Colyer Laverde
Burton Whitecross Shiels Henderson

I prefer players being able to kick off both sides of their body, and I am surprised at how many AFL players have this deficiency - At the same time, Mark's constant posts about McGrath's lack of a left is boring - Many gun players have forged successful careers without being competent on both sides - According to Mark,McGrath would have to be the unluckiest non dual sided player in the history of the AFL.

I'm looking forward to this! I'm expecting it to be a tough game and hopefully give some of our new guys a sense of the history between our teams.

Is Hodgy the only one left from the line in the sand match or did Jobe play?

If your talking about round 22 2009 when Lloyd flattened Campbell Brown both teams had 4 current players. We had Jobe, Stants, Hocking and Hurley , Hawks had Hodge, Shiels, Birchill and Rioli. I remember thinking how good the very young Hurley was that day after he kicked 4 and pretty much single handedly got us into the finals.

edit: it was Sewell he took out not Campbell Brown.

Yep, that's the match. Was a real turning point for the Bombers. You guys just went from strength to strength after that.

I think the line in the sand game was 2004 with Vandenburg? The 09 game was pretty brutal too with Lloyd taking out Sewell.

Yep, where there was a massive punch-up, Hawks played the man not the ball, got flogged by you guys to the tune of about 100 points.

I always thought it was a shame that the Lloyd/Sewell thing ended there. I remember the footy show (I think it was) interview with those two and they were reasonably polite to each other.

Out of your entire team that day Sewell was the last I wanted taken out like that.

I think it goes more like this.
Woosha: you're on O'Meara.
Parish: yes, sensei - I can beat him.
Woosha: No - I want you as an extra midfielder...
