If we come somewhere near even in the midfield and kick straight we will win.

It would be a fair specticule if Davies, Lovett, Dempsy, Basher, Jetta, Winders, Hird, Dyson and Monfries all played in the same side this week all getting a crack Wing midfield and Forward line.

After reading all the hype about how we have a full side to pick from and how adelaide have a few missing, anything more than a 4 goal loss will be a disgrace.

I think it's unfair to designate a margin as fluctuation will vary. For example, it could be a really windy day where it's hard to kick a score and a 3 goal loss could be fairly comprehensive. Another example being that the game could be played exceptionally open and whilst we were very much in the game, the margin turned out to be a bit above 4 goals. I think it will be a disgrace if we don't give any sign that were up to winning the game.

as long as we are competitive for four quarters i will be happy.

obviously i will be stoked if we win but winning at aami is just as hard as winning at subi.

don't forget adelaide just missed out on a grand final. it's not going to be as easy as some people are predicting.

B: Welsh, Michael, M.J
HB: McPhee, Fletcher, NLM
C: Monfries, Watson, Winderlich
HF: Hird, Lucas, Lovett
F: Johns, Lloyd, Davey
R: Hille, Stanton, McVeigh
INT: Ryder, Heffernan/Peverill, Dyson, Slattery

-Monfries and Lovett to rotate with each other
-Ryder could rotate with Fletch if need be, or help out in the ruck
-Slattery to possibly go into the middle, his agression in the middle could be usefull
-And Heff or Peverill in the side as a tagger to shut down goodwin
-McVeigh in the middle, we need his great disposal and skill in the middle

couldn't mcveigh or slats tag if they are playing in the middle???

besides that it is a good team.

Yeh they could, but i think that only Slattery should if he's in the middle, but id rather McVeigh being used as an attacking midfielder because I think he could be much more damaging playing attacking. If we had just slattery in the team as our tagger, do you think he would be able to handle someone like Goodwin, or would it be better just going with an experienced tagger such as Pev or Heff just in case?

lovett wont play in the middle ahead of Angry Angus. Houli is a definite walkinto our 22. He has endurance, speed, and a ****load of heart. Davey is our forward lockin and Jetta IMO will most likely miss. McVeigh wont and cant play midfield, he doesnt have the temperament or the abilty IMO. Also expect the same trick we've seen for over a decade now with Hirdy named on the flank but starting on the ball so i'd look for another flanker in the team not a midfielder!

if mcveigh was playing in the midfield he would be used in an defensive role. stants and jobe will be the attacking players. obviously it would be nice if mcveigh can hurt the crows when we have the ball.

i wouldn't mind slats be used as a tagger as his aggression could be very valuable against the big bodies of the crows. i'm not sure that pev or heff could do much better than slats. goodwin has mauled us the last two times we have played them

I don’t know how many Essendon supporters are coming over to Adelaide this weekend but for the one who are and the Essendon supporters group that live in Adelaide there will be delays around the stadium on Sunday.

AAMI Stadium's gates will open early at 9.45am on Sunday - and Crows, Bombers and all football fans are being urged to find new routes to the West Lakes arena.

Brebner Drive, which stradles AAMI Stadium alongside the Grange Golf Club, will be closed until 10.30am because of a major triathlon in the area.
The Adelaide FC last night advised fans to add extra time to their journey on Sunday and to avoid Brebner Drive at the southern end of AAMI Stadium.

I think McVeighs best position for us in on the bench and used as a pinch-hitter. Give him a 10 minute burst at the end of the first and 3rd quarters on a wing or up forward and otherwise i'd slot him in down back if Welsh or Lovett-Murray are getting beaten.

I think that's wasting him. McVeigh's got great fitness and great pace. McVeigh is also the most likely of the small defenders to stop his opponent. Impact players are guys that struggle with the pace of the game, those being young players and older players. McVeigh has no such problem and thus, is a full game player.

anybody know if theres a pub near the ground we can get to early before the game? Id like to avoid the traffic that could be happening due to the triathalon. This is my first trip to adelaide so hopefully it will be memorable for all the right reasons :thumbsu: go bombers!
