There has to be equity and yes, some players have forged a spot so you go with it. I hope Strauss does well and I want Nicho further up the ground - is this the first time both he and Terlich have played together?

Having said that Playing in Brissie did Blease no favours particularly, especially if he didn't have the form as you say.

Who do you think as sub? Strauss?

For a bloke with no tank at the moment it was suicide to put him back in the side for a game in Brissie in that heat. Sounds silly but Neeld should know better. At least play him as the sub in that game so he can give us 35-40 minutes of hard run without worrying about blowing up half way through the game.

Think Nicho should be the sub. Has a bit more pace than Strauss and can probably push further up the ground. With Betts, Garlett and Yarran roaming around their forward line I'd like to see Strauss take one of them for the day. Plus it will be cathartic for him to do that as this is the first time (I believe) he has played Carlton since he broke his leg against them in 2011.

Yeah, I'm not sure. Nicho has his detractors because of his kicking but its a game of rotations these days, something we've not grasped going by yearly selections thus far. Nicho can go most of the day, you can't put a price on that, it means a lot to the other players.

Tapscott will be at the cross-roads by year end, give him as much game time possible if he is good enough for the 22.

Evans is a monty for full game so I have Strauss in his first game back as sub with Dunn in and Grimes playing down back too.

We have to learn to run games out and optimise our rotations for the good of the team me thinks.

Certainly think it's one of Strauss or Nicho who get the vest. As you mentioned Evans is in good form and, for me, Tapscott wouldn't give us too much as a sub late in the third term. He isn't that sort of impact player at the moment.

Carrazzo out for the Blues... good for us, not that it will really make a difference

Massive, he would have sat on Jones all day.

No Kreuzer, no Gibbs and now no Carrazzo. It has to help, but there's still Judd, Murphy, Simpson and even McLean in their midfield and of course that mosquito fleet of pacey forwards to contain. Hard to see us getting close but signs of continued improvement will be most welcome.

I'll have this video ready to go after tomorrow though:

That was the game that got one of my kids to follow the dee's , from the swans . To his credit has stuck with us haha

Either you're fit enough to play or not. Sam had had a few full games, did most of the pre-season, he should have been fit enough. He's still learning how to be "on" for 100% of a game, nothing to do with Neeld, and reports from Casey today are much the same (flashes in and out of games).

Equally though, getting that heavy knock (2nd quarter?) couldn't have helped, and I wonder if the drop off in the second half wasn't more about that.

We have absolutely no right to be considered to win this game. But, I have a hunch this will be that one ridiculous upset for the year, that nobody ever expects.

Nah ... too early. That one will come later in the year. Round 15 vs the Swans at the MCG would be a good candidate!

I can recall when we were one of the top teams in the mid 2000s and Carlton were shit, but they would still beat us.

Now where's that rainbow rating gone...?

Nah, we is going to get royally reamed, I'm afraid :(

If Melbourne beat Carlton I will buy a Demon membership for my family. I haven't been this certain about a win since we played you last time. Still, hope it's a good game of footy for the most part.
