Magpies - Away - Win
Suns - Home - Win
Hawks - Away - Very tough game, maybe a win if they start slowly
Bombers - Home - Win
Swans - Away - Loss
Kangaroos - Home - Win
Eagles - Away - Win
Power - Home - Win
Cats - Away - Another tough game, but we should win this one

The only game I see us losing is possibly the Hawks game. Although, with Buddy gone and us having a second tall in Gumby we might have a better shot. As for Sydney we match up well on them and the confines of the SCG suit our game plan. I'm being optimistic and chalking that up as a win. I'm hoping for 8-1 or 9-0. I guess time will tell if I'm dreaming or I'm on the money.

Haha. Now the Sydney game will be interesting. I will be there cheering my lungs out !! We match up so well against Sydney. I have no idea what effect the Buddy factor will have. But our Defence will have their hands full with Tippett, Franklin, Goodes, Reid, Rohan, Roberts-Thompson and Jetta (Shudders)
So will their defence. A fully fit Pavlich, Balla, Walters, Mayne, Gumbleton, Sylvia with Fyfe and Sandi rotating through there isn't exactly going to be an easy ride for their back six either.

We've been building under RTB for a couple of seasons now. Reaching the GF last season has given us a very tough start to the season which I'm extremely excited about. As Ballas said we've got to beat the best to be the best and what better way to start the season playing some seriously good teams that we can seriously match it with now. That is what you want after all isn't it? If we can replicate Hawthorns start to last season where they had the toughest draw and won all of them ,we will certainly be the team to beat. I'm pretty sure under Ross and his psych we can win all of these games. We will have some of the younger players and even older players who will be better again this year and we will be gelled after playing the game plan for the third season. No reason why we can't win all of these games. I'm stoked with this draw. Bring it on!

I agree black sheep. Their defence is their slight weakness. I had not thought of that

As mentioned by someone else above, the Port game is away and the cats at home
We have done all right at AAMI in the past, will be the first time we have seen Adelaide oval so Port will have the advantage there. That could be a 50-50 game but a lot depends on if Port back up from last year, they have a good list in the making
I think we'll beat the cats at Subi

Very over confident in my opinion. I think it will be either 5-4 or 6-3 to start off with this draw and probably a finish between 4th and 6th on the ladder unfortunately.

The beginning of the year often has upsets in regards to what the bookie says. We are operating off old information and unfortunately the cliche about taking it a week at a time is true. Form is an intangible thing that greatly affects results and is hard to read at the beginning of the season.

On the plus side we can argue that we will be extra hungry. That we have had a better preseason than usual in regards to fitness targets being met. We have more players available for the whole of pre season. We have another year under the Lyon Method. We have new recruits.
On the negative side, every other club is improving. Our form was at its peak at the end of last year, whether that holds is unknown.

Many games come down to a key moment or two and they often break the wrong way.

My guess is that we will lose three games in the opening nine.

I have had a really good think about it, and I think we will definitely win the games where we are in front after the final siren and lose the ones we are behind :)

I'm so nervous, excited, just hurry up season 2014. !!!!!!!!

On the positive side JLo or the Wizz might slot one if we are behind.

C'mon a bit of optimism please, we're the Freo Dockers.

Anyone, Anywhere and most certainly ANYTIME

Pretty damn tough run to be honest, 5 games I see that will be genuinely tough games (Pies, Hawks, Bombers, Swans and Cats). I think 6 wins would be a good result, 7 or more would be excellent and would likely see us top 2 after the 9. Don't like to include Essendon but I would be more confident against them a) at Etihad and b) playing them in the second half of the season.

I though we were playing Essendon at subi? I'd be most confident of winning at home than anywhere else, including Etihad.

Thanks. Knew that would wake ya up. Nearly time to start talking about real football instead of this stupid warm up round robin shit. Hope all is going good and your ready for Freo to bring the cup to the west this year.

I know it feels that way doesn't it. We are deprived of footy on here. We have spent the summer talking about Vanilla Slices and our Training reporters love lives ;)

Trial matches, NAB cup then the real stuff

Bring on the real stuff. Love lives and vanilla slices can hurt a man. Need beer, mates, footy and real conversations

Would agree with any other side than Essendon, have had our measure at Subi in the last couple of year. Reckon we'd do them easily at Eddiehat.
