Re: Round 8 Trades

Very nice trades Liverpool... Team complete?! How many trades do you have left?

I ended up going:
Out: Hall, Trengove
In: Fyfe, Swan

Very happy with those. Now have 12 trades and 3 DEFINITE upgrades needed (Waters or Maguire, Hille, and either Balla or Pods depending on how each of them go in the next few weeks) with a couple of other cheeky ones that i'd love to do as well (e.g. Martin, the remaining player of Waters and Goose).

Here's to hoping I have a good week for once :thumbsu:! Coming off a couple of shockers (1980 odd and 2000 odd) after averaging 2250 or so for the first few rounds)
Uhhh 8... :p, But its all good only 1 player left to upgrade 6-7 trades left for injury, not bad, my theory is the erlier you get your team right the longer you will be scoring well.

Fyfe and Swan are good ins, just hope they dont rest Fyfe, he is playing well, but looks a bit on the liter side, and with good names to come in for freo might be a bit touch n go. Dont think you need to get rid of Waters or Maguire think they can pretty much it with some of the best.

Good luck for the week mate.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Love your Cross trade. :thumbsu: He's ma man in SC. :D
Haha I wanted him last week but with Seaby the spud going down had to pick up some1 else with that pick the money that Ball made this week more than covered for the mone Cross made, so win win I guess haha.

I think Cross is the most underpriced prem out there can avg around 115 for the rest of the year I think.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Who should I trade out Ziebell for? Got $167 000 in the bank.

Hating myself for trading in Stanton for Vince last week, instead of Cross. Considered Cross, decided against it and then went Stanton. The extra seventeen points would have one my league encounter by 1!

I'd get Cross this week, but Ziebell seems like more of a pressing issue. Plus, Cross should only rise by about 10k this week.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Don't know why people are falling over backwards to get rid of Hall, and I understand his huge breakeven. I'll keep the faith.

I guess the issue for me is, I have Ballantyne, Hall, Tippett and Dangerfield all in the forward line. I'll have to upgrade at least some of them at some stage, and with Hall's hefty B/E it seems like a fair enough time to do so.

Agreed. His last two games have been poor but the first was against the Saints in a shockingly negative game and then last week against the Dees in the pouring rain. I doubt any power forward would have dominated in those matches. 4 of the next 5 Dogs games are at Ethiad as well.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Hall was always a mistake, i just went with him because everyone else did

This. Barring injury, I'm looking at keeping him the whole season. Hope he plays well tomorrow, but not well enough to win the dogs the game.

Re: Round 8 Trades

yeah but bazz is also going to get rested in the next few weeks, he was saying his body can't keep up any more.

also bazzas good games have only been against adelaide and hawks....not really much credit to give there....

should I get fyfe or ROK for baz? im swapping bastinac to stevenson cuz i need some coin. when is shuey coming back?

Re: Round 8 Trades

lads i have 13 trades left and was thinking of the following trade: (keep in mind im after league wins as the main prize is well out of arms reach)
medhurst to either watts or hughes then murphy (dogs) to higgins harvey or goodes? what would you do in my situation.

thanks in advance

I figured he was going to be upgraded sometime anyway and I didn't have Buddy at only $100K dearer so I bit the bullet on BBB. They are talking about him being rested soon and I just decided it was time to bring in a true premium.

Time will tell. Last year Buddy burned me badly when I traded him in so who knows?

Re: Round 8 Trades

Higgins is a star. Do it! I am trying to as well (but in my mids for MPP)!!

Ok Guys,
Can I have some opinions,
this week: Hall > Fyfe, Nason (bench) > Webberly
Next week: Bastinac > Higgins, Silvagni > Roberton
Week After > Gumby > ROK

Will leave me with the following team, 10 trades and not a whole lot in the bank.

Hodge, Goddard, Melceski, Gilbee, Enright, Hunt, Maguire (Webberly, Roberton)
Ablett, Barlow, Judd, Selwood, Cooney, Higgins (Shuey, JKT)
Sandilands, Tippet (Warnock, Trengove)
Pav, Brown, ROK, Goodes, Franklin, Pods, Fyfe (Davis, Hitchcock)

Then later once the other rookies have gone up i will upgrade Fyfe and Hunt if I have enough trades left. Thoughts?
Its the only way I can get higgins rok and fyfe in without having to downgrade bastinac this week for stevenson.
Not to worried about starting Fyfe as I have davis as cover.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Am looking at ditching the letdown Ziebell this week. Can afford Gia but don't think he'll be able to keep his form up and I'd just be chasing points from previous weeks at this point, so my other two options are Franklin and Harvey (already have Higgins, Didak etc.). I like Harvey because he's a midfielder and can therefore win his own ball, but he cops the first tag every week which is concerning. I like Buddy because he can rip out some huge scores every couple of weeks, don't like him because he's a roller coaster and with Hawthorn struggling he might too.

Any thoughts?

Re: Round 8 Trades

not trading this week.

11 trades left with 248k in the kitty.

will ride along with hall for a couple of more weeks, pods and duncan are on the bench so unfortunately have davis and fyfe as part of 22

Re: Round 8 Trades

B.B.B.Barry Hall + 200K > Pavlich
Thoughts?

If you don't have any other glaring issues with your team i don't see why not.

But like others have mentioned, Bulldogs have 4 of their next 5 at Ethiad and Halls previous 2 games weren't suited to his game.

Personally, i'm keeping Hall, but it wouldn't be a bad trade i guess to trade him out especially if it's for Pav.

Re: Round 8 Trades

I'm in the same boat except my forward line is weak across the board. Looking at Medhurst to Higgins/ROK/Davis. Leaning towards Davis but Collingwood to have a tough month ahead.

J Brown, Medhurst, Ziebell, Franklin, Gray, Tippett, Gumbeleton - Rockliffe, Hitchcock

Is it worth keeping Ziebell as 7th forward and who should I downgrade out of Gumbleton/Rockliffe/Hitchcock to make the $ for my upgrade?

I've got Ziebell and was going to dump him, but I now think I'll keep him for 1 more week - his b/e is 100 and if he gets his average score (65ish) he only loses 15k. Wiht Anthony out for the Kangaroos there's speculation Ziebell will get more time in the midfield which should help his scores.

Re: downgrades - I'd drop Gumby out of those 3 - I think Hitchcock was named on an extended bench? so more upside there - and with Drummond now injured that could help Rockliff (who I think would score better than Gumby anyway).

My random question for the week - is anyone think of C Cornes? I think it's time for me to ditch Waters, and Chad's currently 440k with 3 100s in a row. Am I crazy? Should I just get Goddard or Shaw (or someone else) instead. $390k in the bank so money no problem at the moment.

Iv got 12 with 167k

Forwardline reads Pavlich/Brown/Okeefe/Harvey/Fyfe/Gumble/HALL - pods n relton on bench

I am happy with my mids with nds as my lowest avging mid...pretty happy with the backs..

I just need some consistency up forward cos i cant stand halls 29 and 30's dont want another tippett to happen...

I am considering
Higgins (injury prone but consistent)
Didak (Collingwood, good form, gets the ball, cant handle a tag)
Grundy (Is it just a purple patch? Hes basicaly a great mark..like having brian lake in ur forwardline)
Gianciricusa (Is he getting these numbers because mids are injured ? Will he get enough midfield time or will be shifted up forward)

Any help guys ? Sit tight n wait take the price hit with bazza...or get one of these guys n not trade them again...

Re: Round 8 Trades

Do I keep Dan Wells? Probably hit his peak at 490K and there are some great options to replace him. Also considering throwing Carrazo in his place as this adds a bit of versatility with Hodge and Goddard in my backline. If I was to strike on Carrazo the time would be right now!
