Giants were happy to trade Aleer and weren't doing anything to stop you getting him. Their request was F2 which you could easily have stumped up. But you chose to walk away and leave him hanging.

One is contracted GWS either trade or lose him for nothing. Big difference.

You guys kept bragging about how you would get to a "certain point", then walk away. It's what alpha Mackie does.

Looks like we got to that "certain point" with GWS. Not willing to meet their price.

No trade here the best outcome for the 16 other clubs. Cats don’t improve in the ruck and have to keep Blicavs there for big stints when he’s more valuable elsewhere and the Saints will waste at least half a season trying to wedge him into their forward line.

He wont be playing ruck because a) tdk is being paid 1.7 mil and b) tdk is useless anywhere other than ruck (if you watched him at carlton). Rowan will be either learning to play forward or he will be in the vfl. Neither of which he would be doing at another club.

And I'm sure they will try that but i would argue Ryder was miles better around the ground (not withstanding the actual ruck stuff) than tdk was. Tdk has the football brain of an athlete which is why he cant play forward. So I doubt it can work. But power to you if it does.

If your list manager is paying the highest wage in afl history for tdk to play anywhere other than the only position he is good at then hes the biggest moron known to man.
That is what will dictate where Marshall plays (which most people are aware of including marshall) not anything i ever said.

Marshall is about as much of a forward as Rhys stanley is. Gun player is marshall but not a forward.

In no world does a coach want to be forced to play two rucks in today’s game - yet the Saints will have to, or play Marshall in the VFL (having passed up pick 18).
Cats made an offer with a deadline. Saints wanted to drag it out. Publicly said they have heaps of money etc, then suddenly couldn’t do the deal with the GWS player they’d committed to bring into the club (and yesterday said it was likely to happen!). Now players in the future will think Saints can’t be guaranteed to get moves done.
Cats have ruck options coming through (albeit with a bad injury run so far) and signed Stanley as back up. And showed Saints (and other clubs) we make offers but if they aren’t accepted we move on.

Granted we lost, but I don’t think big Oscar’s 8 touches was a game breaker and doubt he plays if no for injuries. My point being it’s unlikely teams will play two rucks - but who knows maybe that’s Ross’s plan and if there was no intent to trade Marshall why did the GWS deal fall over…

Our list manager isnt telling you guys anything in truth.
You can take that with a grain of salt
Marshall can play in multiple positions, wherever is deemed necessary, can also sit on the bench for abit now, to have a wee rest.
I've said it a few times here
Is more a ruck-rover than a pure ruck.
We will work something out that suits.
He'll have to bend with that now.
