Improved efficiency in energy production ultimately leads to increased consumption
Jevons Paradox -
While economic structures continue to be geared towards economic growth and perpetual consumption, any technological advancement in energy efficieny that would be likely to contribute to environmental sustainability will be ultimately negated by the increased consumption brought about by the efficiency gain -
