Great start to the year!

It was a great come from behind win against Claremont on Friday. Although it was bitterly disappointing that a) there was a Good Friday AFL match in Perth b) West Coast hosted it c) Our match started so late and d) We hosted Claremont. This seriously impacted our gate takings, in years gone by its been about 5-6,000 people at the ground and we didn't even crack 2,000 on Friday.

In other good news Hille and Willcocks will be pushing for selection this weekend.

Go Royals!

Mighty Eagles, what most impressed me about our win over arch-nemesis Claremont was that after conceding four unanswered goals in the first half of the opening quarter, we only conceded four more goals for the rest of the game.
It's hard to see who will drop out to accommodate Shayne Hille and Kye Willcocks.
It will be a big challenge against the much-improved Perth at Lathlain on Saturday night.

reserves and seniors into the GF
It goes without saying that the boys in blue and black will give it their best shot, fuelled by the pain of defeat in 2025.
South is a very, very good side, but anything can happen on Grand Final day and we just need a bit of luck to go our way.
After losing their first five games of 2025, it's been a mighty effort by the reserves to come from the elimination final to reach the Grand Final.

Disappointing day at home against Subiaco today.

Subi got off to a good start and despite the close scoreline, they looked in control all day.

I thought we were really beaten in the midfield. Really lacked the midfield pressure and intensity of the likes of Tedesco for mine.

Subiaco looked a lot quicker than us and we were also outpointed at the centre clearances, Mighty Eagles.
As you say, we certainly missed Liam Tedesco and also Hamish Brayshaw.
Conceding easy early goals in both the first and third quarters didn't help when the final margin was only seven points.
It's not often that we concede seven goals in a quarter, but that happened twice against Subi.
Hopefully Ross McQueen has the boys more switched on for Saturday's game against Swans.

It’s only R1, I hope we redeem ourselves against Swans on Saturday. I’ve got to say it’s really disappointing four of the five league games are on Saturday, this does little to grow the competition IMO.

You’re dead right FitzroyPete, Subi looks lighting quick. Schoey has got them fit as a fiddle it seems.

Go Royals!

Well I went to Leederville not knowing what to expect, that is a bit of a furphy, I knew the EF colts and futures would be strong and they were, really good wins to both teams. Our colts boys have been doing well but EF are a different proposition, just so strong all over the field, slick use of the ball and our inability to man up on the counter.

The reserves played really well against what seemed to be an understrength EF but they still played well. Josh Harris, Cole and others just played really well, especially Harris given he was the lead ruck, he took on the responsibility so very well. Msando and Sturrock need to come in for others who just are not showing up!

Not a fan of night games after being there from 0900 but that is my choice to watch the development process. Saw a bit on 7 (which is an appalling coverage and commentary), I thought we had our chances, but the summary suggests that EF were just better and more consistent. Well done to EF and a bit of work to come from us. Not sure th
