With the return of the Roys looking very likely for Season 2010, who do we think the other team will be to join them?

Will we see just a simple 'bye' each round or could we see the return of the AFL All Stars?

Or could Okey create a St Kilda affiliated team, which would end his issue of looking for a new team.

Are there people out there interested in creating new teams?

What's happening?

Bit of work going on to try and get new teams but nothing will be decided or allowed until the Roys position becomes clear.

Will be running a reserves competition next year however. Won't be a full on comp. Will probably just be 2 teams, with one of them a bot team who plays weekly matches against anyone who's not in their clubs team. Could be good for new players who can't find a team to take them or Okey:D Will probably look for someone to be in charge of running the SFA reserves team.

We will pretty much have a second team worth of posters once BBB is finished collecting them for us :p:thumbsu:

I think we should just bring in the AFL All Stars again.

Unless we all committed to help setting up a new team?

Im sure if we all took a little bit of time to recruit outside the SFA we could build another team, especially if we affiliated it with a particular AFL club to attract their supporters.

Gold Coast would be a good option in my opinion. :thumbsu:

No reason why they couldn't. Bombertalk managed two teams for my ill-fated Qooty FFL.
We're looking into it now.
We've almost got the numbers to do it already. Probably only need to recruit another 6 or so players (maybe less) to reach the minimums and we could do that easily I think.

I am currently on a huge history binge, looking at the old 1800s newspapers for FFC history, its got me all nostalgic. There are some great old names back there, so if you end up stumped for nomenclature, I can suggest : Essendon Standard, Essendon Imperial, Essendon Alma, Essendon Alberts (I dunno where these were coming from but lots of towns had these suffixes for junior footy clubs). Of course you could always resort to Essendon Association or Essendon Town ... or maybe Sharjah Same Olds :) or Fallujah Blood and Tars :) ... I won't get myself into trouble with the final suggestion :D

Wouldn't have anything to do with a certain race of people being covered in blood would it? ;)

2 Bombers teams???? Why would you have 2?

Get a NEW Franchise
You wanna go and find 22 new players to start a new franchise? Go ahead.

We currently have 36 players on our lists and most of them are active. They all want to play for Bombers.
We only need another 8 players to have the minimum number of players to have 2 teams.

It will get rid of the bye and ensure all out players would get a game every week. It works for us and it works for the SFA
