Rucci astounds me with his bad journalism more every week

In this article: http://www.theadvertiser.news.com.au/footy03/story_page/0,8747,9700456%5E25397,00.html

he claims that the Power showed a 'new maturity' and that they could handle 'finals-type pressure' because of their win against Geelong.

I think Mr Rucci should look at how many times in the past two years he has called a close win by Port a win that shows they can stand up to 'finals-type pressure'. Serously, every close game last year he claimed that.

It proves NOTHING. Port have shown for 3 years they can win as many close games as they like during the season, it's only the finals where their panic sets in and the gameplan (which hasn't honestly changed that much this season) falls apart.

As for Chad Cornes...geez he looks good when they're winning, but if they're losing, he is shown up as what he really is - an unaccountable back who peels off his opponent at all the wrong times - as McGregor showed.

Rucci's journalistic bias is ridiculous. At least he could check his own previous writings and realise when something wasn't true...

Idiot.

Not to mention the fact he keeps going on and on and on about how the Power have changed their gameplan to go long and direct when Primus was on TV himself saying they haven't really changed much.

I was listening to Rucci on Saturday morning on 5AA talking about the Crows poor trading/recruiting and constantly refer to the Crows giving away Modra for 'nothing' (to use his words).

If he is going to make claims like that he should at least look up what we got for him. Getting Stenglein (and Beinke) with the draft picks we got for a soon to retire Modra is hardly nothing.

I don't think anybody in their right mind would not be happy with getting Stenglein.

Or maybe he knew who we got but didn't mention it because it didn't suit his agenda.

I am far from unhappy with Beinke. He provided a good target with very strong hands in our forward line. If we had it more up-and-running, say with Carey and Stevens as *crosses fingers* we have now, he could have been a very lethal third forward. He always played taller than he was and he was an awesome mark - contested as well.

I had a lot of time for Beinke, I was disappointed when he retired.
