I'm asking mostly for SC purposes, but there's a fair bit of overlap.

Assuming two established players are picked for your on-ground roles, who are you looking at for the bench in the ruck position?

Meesen (2 games in 2007)
Leuenberger (9)
Hampson (2)
Wood (8)
Biglands (0)
Maric (6)
Warnock (12)
Bailey (0)
Griffin (15)
Kreuzer (draftee)
King (5)
Gardiner (0)

Prices will play a big part, as will fitness for the likes of Biglands and Bailey. Which way are you leaning?

Kreuzer seems like he will get a lot of game time, therefore a lot of points. I think Leuenberger could be good but Brisbane do have MacDonald as a backup to Charman, but they do need to start giving him gametime somewhere. Wood will play heaps for Collingwood so he would be a good choice. Biglands will be the main ruckman for Adelaide so he would be a very good buy. Remember how much Hudson went up last season.

In order I would choose

1. Wood
2. Biglands
3. Leuenberger - He could be second if he was going to be backup ruckman to Charman
4. Kreuzer

Hmmmm, Biglands has a bit of competition if he's not 100% fit though, in Maric and Griffin (and Tippet and Sellar, potentially). He's a risk, although I was also on the Hudson bandwagon last year and profited greatly.

I tend to think Hampson will get a lot of games this year, moreso than Meesen perhaps, but he's not as good as Leuenberger or Wood at this stage so it will come down to price.

At this stage I'm steering away from Gardiner, and Bailey still has a lot of competiton coming back from injury.

Messen should be a relief ruckman to White this year and will be worth having in the ruck emergencies. Considering also Kruzer, Wood or a fit Gardiner on the bench.

At this point in time im going the Blue double, Hampson and Kruzer.

Hampson by the sounds of it can play key forward aswell and Kruzer will more than likely be there in round 1. Bailey is also another one i have considered. And also depending on price and form Gardiner would be a handy pick up, and he should play most weeks unless injured. Hopefully he will start bottom price although highly unlikely.

Wood, Berger, Warnock etc are to expensive for the pine, and too inexperianced to start. I doubt they will have many takers this year.

1. Hampson
2. Kruzer
3. Bailey
4. Gardi

My starting rucks, at this point are Cox ... and well, no one else. But if you pick a decent 2nd ruckman that doesnt have many injury concerns then theres no point in getting a ruckman like Burger on the pine as he would be a waste of money.

well if he goes up 100,000 then he will be worth it, plus if a ruckman has a 1-2 week injury he would be adequate to fill in.
