We gave up on Lade when Holland became available. I am happy that he signed on with the Power. I rather draft a ruckman than go for a quick fix.

Heard Lade on 5AA a week or so ago. He said staying with Port was number 1 priority and he wanted do stay.

At the end of the interview he then threw in to Cornes something like "the other option is to play for your mob (the Crows)". My immediate thought was, that's a strange thing to say. It was almost as if he was saying that it was a real possibility, because players usually don't say that sort of thing unless they are serious about moving. You certainly wouldn't say it if you were definately going to stay.

My second thought was, oh no, we're getting Lade (in both senses of the word).

I'm not too fussed either that he's resigned with the paps as at age 27 he still would be a risk with his dicky legs to bring across,
