Rudd Wins!

David Spears on Sky News brought us the news by pulling his mobile out of his pocket and reading the SMS.

Looks like AAP had the numbers pretty well right.

Better than Beazley but I don't know if he will change my vote. The main concern is what his policies are.

If Beazley stayed, it would have been yet another loss for Labor

Very good result in the end. Rudd is the future. Beazley is not. Its that simple. Rudd is a very likeable person really. He has a personality and in his case wont get Rove and Karl Rove mixed up ;) .

I just wish he would piss off that Julia Gillard. A hack

Gillard elected deputy un-opposed.

Perhaps Maklin pulled out as soon as Beazley was beaten because that was the team she wanted to only be in the team where Beazley was leader.
That's what I figured too. Well not so much because she didn't 'want' to work under Rudd but Beazley retaining the leadership was her only chance.

The 'surprise' expressed by the Sky News panelists had me scratching my head.

The two pairs were running virtually, if not formally, as a 'ticket'.

Tough day for Beazer, looks like his brother has died too and found out just after he learnt that he lost the leadership :(

I've been pretty harsh towards Beazley in recent days, but that goes beyond politics. Explains his emotion when talking about his family at his press conference. Hopefully now he can dedicate himself to his family and his own health.

It probably increases Labor's chances at the next election but I really feel for Bomber Beazley. He's a top bloke but that doesn't generally make for a good politician.

Just hope my party unite and get on with the job of chucking out the Libs at the next poll now.
