RUGBY WORLD CUP x ASICS

Australia has been awarded the Rugby World Cup for the first time since 2003. 20 teams will come down under as they fight for the Webb Ellis Cup.
Asics has partnered with the Rugby World Cup Australia to bring the colours of the World Cup to you. Each design will bring the flare, history and will pay tribute to not only the future but also the past. I am look forward to bringing you the designs and colours of the World Cup.

***Please Note: I pay my respect to all Indigenous and Torres Strait Islanders past, present and emerging. The Indigenous design in the RWC logo that I have made not my original artwork. It is the fabulous Indigenous design associated with Rugby Australia by Dennis Golding which has also been prominent on the Indigenous Australian Wallabies jerseys in recent years. As it has a great connection with the Wallabies and Rugby Australia, I thought It would be fitting to use this design in the RWC logo which will feature on all jerseys.***​

GEORGIA
Georgia is first up and their jersey pays tribute their first World Cup jersey when the RWC was last in Australia in 2003. The Borjgali is prominent in a similar position to the 2003 jersey however it now has a modern twist with the current colours of maroon and gold which feature in the jersey worn by the current Georgia Rugby Union team.

USA
The USA come down under in a jersey paying homage to the first two world cups that the USA contested in. The blue and white striped pattern has been centralised on the jersey with a modern USA flag pattern also featuring on the front.

Yep that is basically what I'm doing but I have a couple additional plans for when we get done to crunch time with the top teams.

NAMIBIA
Namibia feature green in their uniform for a first time in a while in a jersey which is quite modern. It uses all the colours of the Namibian flag and the famous eagle. The eagles have come down under to swoop the Webb Ellis Cup!

URUGUAY
Uruguay wears a traditional Blue strip with a silver bar placed across the chest. The light blue uniform is very traditional for Rugby Union in Uruguay having worn a predominantly light blue jersey in each World Cup.

CANADA
Canada returns to the World Cup in a predominantly Red uniform with different shades of red stripes throughout the jersey and black sleeves. A powerful and bold jersey to be worn by Canada during the Rugby World Cup in Australia.

JAPAN
The Japanese rugby team will be donning a unique jersey with a twist of their famous red and white hoops. The thinner hoops are the main symbol which is an icon of Japan's Rugby jersey.

FRANCE
The Runner Ups from the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, France will don a very bold and vibrant jersey in Australia featuring the strong red and blue French colours. Gradients are a key feature which makes the colours come together.

RUSSIA
Russia makes their Rugby World Cup comeback in Australia by donning the famous red, white and blue although with a twist. A mainly light jersey, a red stylised stripe is across the jersey with the remainder of the bottom of the jersey having a stylised light blue block.

SAMOA
Samoa will wear a jersey similar to their Rugby World Cup 2015 jersey with a traditional Samoan pattern covering the entire front (and back) of the jersey. The mainly blue jersey will continue the traditions of Rugby in Samoa.

WALES
Wales will wear a traditional Welsh Rugby Union jersey that is crisp, traditional and bold. The Rugby World Cup Australia design will continue the jerseys worn by past Welsh Rugby World Cup teams.

TONGA
The Tongan Rugby World Cup Australia jersey features a traditional Tongan design across the front of the jersey whilst also incorporating the bold red jersey that has been worn by past Tongan Rugby World Cup teams.

ITALY
Another team to wear a bold and crisp design at the Rugby World Cup Australia are Italy. Italy will again wear a crisp blue jersey with gold features reflecting the past and future of Italian rugby.

FIJI
Fiji will wear a modern jersey for the Rugby World Cup Australia that features the modern black and white which we have seen in all Fijian Rugby World Cup teams.

ARGENTINA
Argentina will don a unique twist on the traditional light blue and white stripes at the Rugby World Cup Australia. The thicker light blue hoops symbolises the deeper desire to become World Cup champions on Australian soil!

SCOTLAND
Scotland will wear a very classical Scottish jersey during the Rugby World Cup Australia. The sleeves will feature purple while the front of the jersey will be the design of the famous Scottish tartan. ​

SOUTH AFRICA
Another change to tradition, South Africa will wear a different jersey to the past with green and gold gradients comprising the jersey. It is a nod to the South African festival culture.

ENGLAND
England will take another change from tradition whilst keeping a majority white, a red gradient is at the bottom of the jersey keeping the colours of the flag of England on the jersey.

IRELAND
One of the biggest risers in World Rugby, Ireland will wear a traditional green uniform at Rugby World Cup Australia however will have a stylised front with classical Irish patterns bringing the nation together.

NEW ZEALAND
What can you change with the New Zealand All Blacks jersey? Not much! The All Blacks will continue with their traditional uniform however with a few changes. A white collar is introduced as a nod to the black and white national colours of New Zealand. The Asics logo is gold as they are the reigning champions of the Rugby World Cup.

AUSTRALIA
Its here. The hosts. Australia! Australia are honored to be hosting the Rugby World Cup and will be wearing a classical Australian Wallabies jersey too. Their 2003 classic will be recreated by Asics and worn by the Wallabies as they hunt for the Webb Ellis Cup to return to Australia.
