I think it was Chris Scott
suggested on AFL360(?) That his preferred rule change would be for; 'only players standing on their feet can puck up a ball in a contest'. Players already down, prone, off their feet, cant pick it up. He suggested it would speed up clearances and end congestion.
Could a prone player tap the ball to a team mates advantage?
If you are (legally) knocked to the ground in a contest and still take a mark, is it paid?
If you are on your knees and a team mate handballs to you and ball hit the ground 1st, can you pick it up?
There are things to consider, but what do others here think of his suggested change?
