The following new rules are being introduced to ODI's next season.

1. One bouncer over shoulder height per over.

2. Bonus points for tournaments involving 3 or more teams.

3. Six run penalty for each over bowled after alloted time.

4. Five run penalty for sledging and poor conduct.

I think the one bouncer rule is fine and the six runs per late over is fantastic. The other two I am not so sure on.

I agree totally with Servo, those 2 rule changes are good ones & I quite like a bit of sledging & semi poor behaviour.
But on the issue of bonus points it will obviously only be relevant in competitions with a league table-so maybe in a world cup game where one team has already qulaified & have to play their last game against a team who have to win they may play a weakened side or not try that hard & the other side may get bonus points which will be enough to get them through at someone elses expense.
Or in a 3 team tournament the top side could purposely lose heavily so that they get their prefered opponents in the final.I just think it's open to abuse. We already have the net RR to provide the tie break for 2 sides with the same amount of points.

Rule 1 is fine. So is rule 3. The other 2 can get rooted.
