Sweet F.A. Fantasy Football League Laws

1 – Basic Conduct and Etiquette

1.1: Spirit of the game: All captains, players and random viewers of the Sweet F.A. must adhere to the spirit of the game. This is a fantasy football league where banter, ego and attitude are part of the game. What happens on this board must stay in this board unless competition administrator feels the urge to shamelessly promote the competition on other boards. Grudges must be kept within this board. Mild-Medium abuse is tolerated however it must stay directed at the player and not personal.

Race, Ethnicity, Nationality or any other abuse directed at a player’s Ethnic, cultural or religious background will not be tolerated and is punishable by permanent suspension from the game and will have to face up to the BigFooty Administrators.

Abuse about sexual orientation is frowned upon not because it is considered obscene and rude but because it is highly immature and is not considered a valid argument about how said offended person performs in the Fantasy Footy or his social rank. Violation of this will result in a rather long lecture about “growing up” and the offending player being looked down upon by the League.

Above all, all participants whether you’re new to the game or a veteran remember the Golden Rule on the Sweet F.A. Board posting: Never take anything personally or too seriously. Nothing in here is directed at the person but the player and their team. If you feel as if you are getting attacked personally PM the BigFooty Fantasy Footy League Administrator to investigate the claim. If it’s found to be indeed personal claims will be forwarded to BigFooty Moderators.

1.2: Captains conduct: Captains are considered the main part of the club. Captains therefore are responsible for the publicity, attitude, integrity and image of the club as that is how the fellow players of that club will more than likely emulate. Captains of each club are usually the biggest talkers and the biggest egos of the competition however all captains must also follow these laws and etiquette more strictly than most as it’s your club’s image you’re responsible for promoting, upholding and bettering.
Each Captain will also be the sole point of contact for any issues relating to the Sweet F.A. Each Captain will have voting rights on any issue deemed necessary by the Administrator. These may include:
- admittance of new clubs
- the folding or merging of clubs
- the delisting of players
- SOO and International Rules selection

2 – Game Day

2.1: Selecting teams: Each captain has to select a team and post it in the appropriate match thread before the time specified. Each team of 20 must be set out in a team sheet format:

B: ---, ---, ---
HB: ---, ---, ---
C: ---, ---, ---
HF: ---, ---, ---
F: ---, ---, ---

R: ---,---,---

I: ---, ---

Each player can be named only once and all players selected must be available for selection (see rules 5.3 and 5.4). Violation of this rule will result in that team being considered void and the captain will have to re-select the team before the deadline. Failure to submit a team after posting one with an invalid selection will result in a deduction of 1 premiership point and the team from last round used. Vice Captains may also be responsible for selection if the captain doesn’t appear to be present however if the Captain does post a team that will be the team recognised. In a case where it appears unlikely that the captain or vice captain will post a team, any player from the club may select the team, however, if the Captain or Vice Captain post a side that is the team that will be recognised. The Administrators decision is final on team lists, their validity and any deduction of premiership points.

Games will be played on Sunday afternoon-evening with a possibility for early games to be played if the Administrator choses to do so. The deadline for team submissions is the Friday prior to a scheduled match at 9pm Melbourne time, unless otherwise specified.

2.2: Late submission of teams (any round): Late submission of a team will result in the club responsible being deducted 3 premiership points and the team selected will be the side that played in the previous match.

2.3: Incorrect naming of team If the team member posting the team fails to notify any changes to the selected team (player changes, not positional changes) before the deadline, the team will be deducted 1 premiership point. It is also requested (although not punishable) that if the team (including positions) is unchanged from the previous match that it be noted when naming the team.

2.4: Late submission of teams during finals: Late submission of a team during finals will result in the club responsible having an unchanged line-up from their last match played and 5 goals deducted from their final score.

2.5: Administrator Absent: If the Administrator of the competition is away or for some other reason unable to fulfil his/her duty the matches missed in the Administrators absence will be posted as soon as possible on their return. Administrator may delegate someone to take his/her role whilst unable to post the matches required.

2.5: Match Validity: All matches posted by the Administrator or a designated replacement are final. Any match where a player has participated whilst suspended, a player is named twice or if a game malfunctions or is lost, the Administrator reserves the right to replay the match. The replay may only take place during the same week of that round. If an indiscretion is found after this time, the result shall stand.

3 – Representative Football

3.1: Selection of representative teams: If you’ve been selected in a representative side (BigFooty or State Of Origin) you will be required to fulfil your duty as a player unless you decide to decline the honour. Captains of each representative squad are selected by the Administrator of the competition.

3.2: State of Origin: Players wishing to nominate for SOO must only nominate for 1 side. Captains are to select players only who nominate a state. If a player warrants selection and has not nominated a state, he may be asked by Captains if they so wish. Any player may decline selection if they so wish.

4 – Awards and Statistics

4.1: Mobbenfuhrer Medal: During the season, each Home and Away match played has the 3 best players named according to the simulator. These votes are kept secret to be tallied at the end of the Home and Away season to determine the best player for the year. All votes will be made public with a thread announcing each rounds votes and the eventual winner.

In the case of a tie, all players with the most votes will receive a medal.
All votes are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

4.2.i: Goalkicking Medal: Each week of the Home and Away season the leading 60 goal kickers will be posted. At the end of the Home and Away season, the player or players with the most goals will win the Goalkicking Award.

The statistics at the end of each game are considered final and any incidents during the commentary of any match where a player was misidentified as a goal kicker will not be counted.

4.2.ii: Other Medals
EKA Medal - Best First Year Player
TFLUA-Tiger Medal - Best Player in Grand Final
Deestroy Medal - Similar to Mobbenfuhrer, but voted on by designated members
Frankston Rover Medal - Administrators Award

4.3: Statistics: Each week, the main statistics of each match will be posted. All statistics are considered correct and no correspondence shall be entered into.

4.4: BigFooty All Australian Side: At the conclusion of the season, captains or senior members of the league may be invited to select their All Australian team from all players in the Sweet F.A.

From their submissions a team will be selected as the BigFooty All Australian Team.

5 – Squad Management

5.1: Squad sizes: The minimum amount of players required to make a club is 22 players. The maximum amount of players suggested in a squad is 30. Clubs may recruit as many players as they wish but in the interests of the league, it is not encouraged.

5.2: Player complaints within a club: If any player has a complaint about a club or has a desire to overthrow a captain then it’s best advised that player find another club because the captain is basically the club president and has the final say on all matters related within that club

5.3: Suspensions: Players may be suspended by the Administrator of the League for a big indiscretion in which they aren’t allowed to be selected to play for the duration of the suspension. Violation of this law will result in a 4-point deduction from the premiership table. Club captains will be notified about suspended players

5.4: BigFooty enforced suspensions: Users on BigFooty that have received a Red Card on Bigfooty will be unavailable for selection during that period. If a club captain was not aware of the player being carded when selecting the team, the player will be allowed to remain in the team for that week, however, for following weeks until the suspension is lifted the player shall not be eligible for selection and continuation to be selected will result in a 4 premiership point deduction.

5.5: Aliases: No aliases of any playing BigFooty user will be allowed to play (Max = 1 identity per player). Any player found in violation of this rule will be suspended for half the season - full season. However may appeal for a good behaviour bond of a maximum of 4 rounds off the sentence. Any captain having prior knowledge of alias and playing the alias in Home and Away season matches will have their club docked of double the points won in the games in which said alias participated in.

5.6: Clubs Folding or Merging: All current clubs will be given every opportunity to continue playing (with the exception of the AFL Allstars) and clubs shall not be forced to merge or fold unless the captain of the side concedes. Clubs may merge if both captains agree.
The Administrator will have the final decision on a team’s viability and their continued participation in the league. Clubs can be forced to merge if:
- they do no have at least 15 players at the time of list lodgement
- continued violations of the BigFooty or Sweet F.A. rules
- repeated late submissions of sides.

Folding of clubs will be a last resort.

5.7: Late submissions of Team Lists: Failure to name a team list by the given date will result in a 4 point premiership deduction (effectively team will start on -4)

5.86: New Clubs: Anybody wishing to enter a new side into the Sweet F.A. must apply to be admitted into the Sweet F.A. The new clubs must have:
- a nominated Captain
- unique club colours and mascot
- a nominated home ground
- a basic logo/emblem and jumper design
- a minimum of 15 players at the time of application
- a minimum of 20 players by the start of the Preseason Cup.

Any club not meeting the following criteria will not be admitted. No club will be admitted once a season has commenced. New teams must make a formal submission to the Administrator at least 1 month prior to the league commencing for a new season.
Applications can be made during a season but the new club will not be admitted until the following year. The Administrator will have the final say on all applications.

Rules have been reviewed, some changes made, most of them bolded I think. Any feedback, suggested changes welcome. I'll get this stickied when season starts.

Yeah every year someone complains about something:D

You going to be around to make a speech at Mobbenfuhrer Medal Night?

rofl when is it ... maybe i should present the award!
Yeah sounds good, I was thinking last years winner should but BF4 isn't around anymore - it's a pitty when players like that win the award:D

It'll probably be the weekend after the Grand Final. Instead of having it in Grand Final week like the AFL, the 'SFA Awards Night' will be its own weekend an incorporate the Frankston Rover Medal (admins award), EKA Medal (1st year player), All SFA Team and of course the Mobbenfuhrer Medal.

hey guys, i've never been on this thread before, and as a result i have now idea in hell what the Sweet F.A. is, i know, i'm terribly ignorant.

so could someone please explain what the game is that ur playing?

it feels like the in joke that everybody in the group laughs at and ur the only one who doesn't know why it's funny.

A simulated footy game made from computer software.

A couple of clubs are looking for players so go to the sign up thread and if you keep your posting up, you will get a game every week

These rules are crap.

Oops, I'm a captain so I have to follow rule 1.2...
Captains conduct: Captains are considered the main part of the club.

The official Baghdad Bombers opinion is that these are awesome rules even though they're crap :)
