Saints got lucky with Gardiner but burnt with Lovett,
I reckon they have settled for one all in the troubled soul
trades...

I can see the Saints weighing in.
They passed on Cousins, and lost the Grand Final by under 2 goals.
If they just miss out again this year, they wont want to die wondering.

However i'm still expecting Fev to be a Lion in 2011.

If this was the case I would be dancing a jig. Get rid of Fraser who is surplus to needs and pick up a 80 goal a year+ full forward? Yes please.

If anyone could cure the Fev cancer it's Mick, Bucks and Maxy.

Yeh - because Voss and Brown are such a pair of soft-utensils.

When will people realise - Fev is incurable !

It's not so much that Maxy or Mick can "cure" Fev.

If anything, he needs to be somewhat "controlled" and there isn't anyone better than Eddie to be the man for that job- hence why he wanted to initally be traded to Collingwood.

Ed has a very close friendship with Fev and as an outsider looking in, his influence on Fev would be huge.

I could never work out why they didn't do it this year but I think it's too late now.

If the trauma of the last post season didn't change him I can't see how anything will now

But geez he'd be the icing on the cake on the ground this year

Carlton didn't want to deal with Collingwood so he was always going somewhere else. I wouldn't mind him at the Pies, but I won't believe it until we see it happen.

Have a friend who is mates with someone at one of the clubs involved. Brisbane are mustard keen on Fraser apparently and are interested in a straight swap with Fev. Fraser and his Missus are keen too and are wanting warmer winters as apparently Josh's knees are slightly arthritic.

It's all ready to sign apparently.

Ha ha classic Dice!

Believe me you don't want him unless you want to live the next few years like our last few when you were almost afraid to read a paper or turn on the news

Aside from all the culture issues, personally I think he would be a lot more use to Collingwood than Brisbane. He plays only one way -as the number 1 target. Sharing that with Brown doesn't really suit him, although he has had niggling injuries all this season.

Collingwood don't have any big forwards who could challenge his presence so it could be a good place for him to shine. In saying that, nothing would be worse than seeing him star at that club.

Do not want him. He is cancer of the most malignant form.

I have also heard that his groin is so bad that he is pretty much finished.

Mate, what is with the random capitalisation of words?? I just don't get it.
Its a Dave the Man thing. You get quite used to it, particularly if you frequent the Pies Board, as I do. Dave tends to have a unique writing style, but he has a good heart and is a loyal Pies man (and his info is usually quite good).

I can't see any club taking him even if the was in the draft for free.
Clubs going forward are building teams. The days of the great but troubled eccentric player are over. The kids that come through now like Scully, Melksham, Bastinac, Martin, Trengove ect are so far ahead in terms of professionalism and plug and play athleticism no one is going to give away anything for Fev. He is a net liability as he has proven at Brisbane.
Freak or no freak, he's finished.

I wouldn't be surprised if Eddie did want Fev at Collingwood but I would be surprised if Malthouse and even more so Buckley wanted him. Personally I don't believe a word of the runmour but I wouldn't be against a trade in a draft which probably won't get much to Collingwood.

Based on Collingwood's previous offers at the trade table, what would they be offering?
Ha, this old theory again hey? Which Collingwood offers have been so ridiculous again? Jolly? Ball? Don't tell me you still think Didak and the first rounder was the right deal for Stevens?

IN recent times the only player on the amrket that Collingwood have wanted that they didn't get was Judd and it never got to offer stage. Prior to that they miised out on Stevens because Port wouldn't accept the reasonale alternative offer involving Scottland who has been better for Carlton than Stevens. I'm afraid you are just being a sheep again.
This story has so many holes I can't believe people are spending the time discussing it (including me)
Agree about the holes but Jesus some of the stuff discussed on here makes this look like a Moon Landing.

Its what TD does. You get used to it after a while.

I would love to see Fev at the pies, but only for the right price, I wanted him last year, but knew Jolly and Ball were required more, so we had to pass, but hopefully we can secure him this year (if the rumors are true).

What part of there is no way they could fit him in their salary cap is not obvious?. And yes, I have done the maths before commenting on this, its Mathematically impossible without either a) getting rid of a future star (remember to allow for future growth, so were talking a Pendlebury, Thomas, Sidebottom type player) which wont happen, and will actually nulify the reason they would get Fevola in the first place.

or

get rid of a highly paid player at the club (again, unlikely, see above paragraphy)

Pointless thread. end it now.

He's no cancer. A cancer is someone or something that can bring down others around him. Fev is a specialist at making a fool out of himself, but people are only too aware of his antics to let him become a suitable peer.

Fev is just Fev. He does some stupid stuff, but it's all minor offenses (drinking, gambling pissing). At least you know what to expect with him. Just have a decent PR representative and then all it comes down to is babysitting... Would you really complain if he delivers 80+ goals a year?

Not Really.

Front load the contract for fev, and back load the contract for pendles/thomas/etc. Quite easy in fact. EG:/ say Fev was on 600k over 2 years, first year 500k second year 100k. then pendles can do the first year at say 100k, second year can go up to what ever is needed.

Also what ever player puts there hand up for a back loaded contract gets a bonus outside the cap. (unofficially of course).

If you could put him in a shoebox between games he could well have been one of the greats. Sadly, you can't so he is reduced to being a rugby-like thug playing AFL.

Collingwood would surely steer clear of this guy.
