Yes and no, largely depends on what we'd get for them this early in the week.

As is often the case in negotiations, the later it gets, the more desparate the clubs that want players may get. If a club really wants to get a player from a club and time is running out, they may be inclined to be a little more giving.

On the other hand, if we get them over and done with early it will put an end to a lot of the shit that has splattered all over our board for the better part of the past fortnight.

I'm really not positive on what the fascination is with Talia in terms of our current setup. The club continually suggests we need a big-bodied CHB - I was under the impression that Talia was similar to Bower in that he's a rangy player who provides dash and rebound.

Not sure how it betters our team.

All indications are that Talia isn't a KPP. Might be that height, but not that sort of player.

Almost as funny as people suggesting that Brennan could be our CHB.

I agree that if we can turn Jacobs and Walker into Brennan and Talia, I would be very happy as well. I see some similar traits between Brennan and Walker in that they are both great athletes and versatile players who can do some freakish things sometimes. As for Talia, I think we can plug him in at CHB perhaps and play Bower on the third tall forward. I rate Talia pretty highly and I hope we can get him.

For Jacobs and Walker (who is contracted), I would something in the vicinity of 14, 18 and an out of favour player, specifically a tall - is Sellar worth it?

Whether that manifests as;

Talia, 18 and some random crowbot or
14, 18 and Sellar

It's probably highly fanciful - but Jacobs is a solid ruck - they command top draft picks - Wood, Jolly et al. Walker is a Top 2 pick that will see a tonne of interest from teams that need a bolter like WBD, Saints and Sydney who love recycling players. There is no need to settle for anything just yet. Those are teams that are prepared to part with high draft picks. What did they pay for Lovett, Peake, Farren Ray et al.? Walker is in a trading class above these blokes, without the severe off-field problems.

I'm not too fussed - but Talia doesn't seem to be the answer we're looking for, at the minute. He couldn't crack into a team that was largely Bottom 4 all year (I'm not sure on his injury status).

The deal was done prior to Trade Week - but the papers were lodged on Day #3 (Wednesday).
