Ok SEN rumour, Leigh Matthews coach!

Wouldn't speculate. Just said to be prepared.

Mmmm, OK, so how about the tone? Should we be worried or was the tone pretty neutral? You know, is it going to be big but things might work out well kind of tone - or this is not going to be pleasant and might stuff us for a while type tone?

Slightly late to be dumping a coach that made the finals??? And lost a100 goal a year forward.

A sacking of Ratts would surpass any Ablett, Hird, Bomber, Replay that may have happened in the past couple of weeks.

So highly unlikely.

I call rumour !!!!!!!

I posted that.

If you take on board the Brad Hardie comments it starts to become more realistic IMO.

Add to that Barret on the Footyshow + some other well known posters + Pelchen and the smoke is starting to pour out of Visy.

If this is the case then its as big as 1980 - when we sacked favourite son Percy Jones and appointed David Parkin as coach. We actually finished 2nd on the ladder that season (on percentage) but went out of the finals in straight sets.

We won the next 2 flags - although we did pick up a few handy recruits in Bosustow and Hunter. ;)

As I said elsewhere I loved Ratts as a player and he probably was a good assistant coach but a head coach he is not.

Some seasons we just don't mention any more. No reason the children have to know.

I reckon you've won that. I'd rather Collins than Grigg.

I never took much notice at the time but when Judd won the brownlow my cousin said, did you see how short and sharp judds little hand tap was with Ratten does not look like the closest of relationships.

I say this cause I reckon the only thing that would get Ratten the sack is Lord Judd sitting down with sticks and swan and saying that rats had lost the playing group whch I just can't see.

And Emma Quayle's article ............

Blues show interest in Tigers' Collins

RICHMOND forward Andrew Collins yesterday emerged as a potential trade for Carlton's Shaun Grigg, as the Western Bulldogs and Hawthorn were far apart on a deal to get Josh Hill into brown and gold and Fremantle and Collingwood began discussing Chris Tarrant's return home.

The Blues are seeking a player for Grigg, who declared his desire to join the Tigers this week, and have expressed their interest in Collins, who emerged as a livewire up forward this season, playing 15 games.

Anyone care to fill me in. I know 2/5ths of SFA about collins

He's really quite a talented player if you ask me.

Can play up forward and find the goals, and has the ability to move into the midfield a little later in his career.

Good pickup. Lots of upside.

Shit don't remind me, how we ever made Percy coach has still got me beat.

For some reason I can remember the players dragging him through the mud in one of the training sessions before the finals. I think it was mean't to be some kind of team bonding prank or something - coaching has come a long way in 30 years.
