There is a rumour going around that Collingwood has informed Fremantle that they do not intend to trade for Chris Tarrant. Carlton is Tarrants second choice. Just a rumour, but interesting.

God I hope that's not true. We have no need for a guy that won't even last 2 years.

For a low pick and a one-year deal I wouldn't complain but certainly not for the 3-way Jacobs->Griffin->Tarrant deal that was rumoured on the HUN...

Well I'm not really into the McKinley idea but I think getting Brown would be pretty handy for us. We wouldn't want to go out of our way to get him because I think Austin/White could be decent. It's just that his brother has done really well for Collingwood and Mitch could be just as good. McKinley I don't rate.

Na I guess he wouldn't say he won't be, but he doesn't necessarily have to say "Yes I'll be honouring the contract", you know Mick, he is the master of spin in the media, I was expecting him to do that when asked in a subtle way but he was pretty forthright

I was expecting him to play the cards like Hird did over the last cpl of months but in a much more subtle way

He also said straight out they are interested in Tarrant as well

He mentioned how he doesn't want to see a finish line otherwise he will just stop trying. I don't think he likes the fact that he now has a finish date. Maybe he is just using Carlton to keep the fire in his belly.
