Mitch Clark now in trade week, this is really bad news for us with the Jacobs trade, now the competition to get him is not so great.

Just heard from a chap at work who is a nobody but did give me the Judd info 2 weeks before trade week a few years back that J Brennan has nominated Carlton as preferred club but wasnt sure on details of any deals.

Yeah but he wants to go to WA and Sauce wants to go to the Crows so I reckon we'll still be ok.

I'd be surprised if Clark left anyway. Is contracted and the Lions would want something pretty special in return.

As BS72 says, I think it's kinda irrelevant.

Not only that, but, Clark wants more gametime in the forward-line, at least his manager suggested as much in today's interview, so it's not exactly the same scenario.

BlueInBlood's Twitter suggests Brennan will go to the GC for pick 9, however.

That is great news, at least as far as I'm concerned. I'm a big fan of Brennan and I would love to get him in the Navy Blue. Along with a key-position back or two (Gilbert, Talia, Spangher, Brown, Everitt etc), Brennan is my number 1 target for trade week. I wouldn't mind adding another Lion in Justin Sherman as well.

Hmmm... I don't know how to feel about that. I really wanted Walker to stay, but Talia is the guy I wanted in a Jacobs trade, and the #14 pick is a solid deal for Walker, who was a #2 pick but has injury issues and such.

Yeah same here, but its only a rumour and probably won't be correct. Especially as the Saints have reportedly expressed intrest in him.

Pleasantly surprised?

Yes and no, largely depends on what we'd get for them this early in the week.

As is often the case in negotiations, the later it gets, the more desparate the clubs that want players may get. If a club really wants to get a player from a club and time is running out, they may be inclined to be a little more giving.

On the other hand, if we get them over and done with early it will put an end to a lot of the shit that has splattered all over our board for the better part of the past fortnight.
