Why would an assistant position for a year be a deterrent to senior coaching aspirations?

Remaining in the coaching ranks, and extending his experience would surely aid his chances better than just waiting in hope.

You're paying that much? talk about ripped off.

I was actually thinking about him the other day after watching 2005 and 2006 GF highlights on TV and thought about how his currency has plumetted. I wouldn't want to give up all too much for him. But he would be nice for us. If we secure pick 14 from Adelaide I would consider giving pick 18 for him straight swap or maybe with a late pick or a fringe player.
