Wow, haven't a few borderline players done well due to the GC.

If they didn't go to the GC, then they are now cashing in due to the lack of options available to teams.

I hope we don't get caught up in it - it is not a buyers market with such inflated values.

If we're smart, we can continue to renegotiate contracts and pay the bulk now. Once sense is restored, we'll have enough to retain our young guns, and go after a player then.

Holding onto the spare cash, for another year or two (so to speak) will give us an exact idea of what we need on the verge of a premiership tilt. On top of this, there should be many more quality options available, and the price tags should not be so high.

Can see it happening as I don't think Malthouse would be to rapt with department of coaching BS role the Pies are dangling in front of him.

Could you fit him under your cap, IIRC he signed a 4 yr extension of around +$3mill...approx $800k a year

A great player at his best, but unfortunately injured more than not these days and would be a huge gamble for any club wanting to recruit him also an ongoing gamble for the Weagles keeping him and taking up so much of their salary cap.

It's just a follow on from yesterday Chism from an SEN segment.

KB asked Swann the question in regards to Malthouse coming to Carlton & offering him big $$$$$$$$ when he was on the programme with Neil Balme.

TBH I cannot remember Swann's reply as I was on the phone.

If we offloaded Fev as a bad influence and for 'culture' reasons, and people are pissed off at Mclean for his repeated injury concerns, I couldnt see us going anywhere near Kerr (particularly at his age).
