Listening to MMM right now and Lyon and Co stating that Swan will be offering Malthouse massive $$$$$$$$ to coach us after next season and the Malthouse -Swan connection and relationship is very strong. Can see it happening as I don't think Malthouse would be to rapt with department of coaching BS role the Pies are dangling in front of him.

Cant happen, Malthouse is contracted to the pies for 1 more years coaching and 2 years minimum (I think) as Dir of Coaching. Eddie has already mentioned that the contract is there and hinted legal action to enforce it. The only way that Malthouse can leave the Pies is to retire, there is no way Eddie would let Swann take Malthouse. There would be an instant injunction stopping it, and it would take 2 years of legals to resolve and we wouldnt have enough money to win the law suit anyway. Forget it folks wont ever happen.

And after a top 4 finish next year, Ratts will get an extension.

Regardless of rep....Can tell you 100% that he has not signed the additional contract at Collingwood.

Gaurenteed he will not be at the Pies in 2012 in any role......

Save it bud, learnt long ago not to take any notice of the peanut gallery. When you have something positive to say about the club maybe people would take anything you post seriously but first you will need to a) change user name cos you have permanently burnt that one b) get a clue about footy and c) get some idea of what it means to support a club. Till then I believe you have a friend in PooM, read it on a prescription pad in his physio's

The other interesting scenario is what happens if the unthinkable occurs and they do go back to back? How do you remove a coach in those circumstances? Has Eddie backed himself into a corner? The reality is that contracts are broken in football on a frequent basis, and there is no doubt Malthouse is not happy with the arrangement and more than likely he will be pursued by several clubs in 12 months time.
It would be crazy to believe that he would not have a escape clause inserted into a contract if in fact he has actually even signed beyond 2011 at collingwood.
l have no doubt he will coach at another club in 2012, with West Coast and depending on how the season unfolds next year Carlton as the two most likely.

As for Ratten the real test for him will be next year, hopefully they can salvage some positives out the players wishing to move on in the trade period, as there must be some concern with the number of players wishing to move on & combined with the departure of so many coaches at the same time.
