I like the idea of that three-way trade with Freo and Pies to get Anthony. He'd definately suit our forwards and with Collins coming in too we can push Yaz into the midfield and Waite back onto the Wing. Don't know what will become of Robbo though, maybe we need his bruteness following the ball?

Tell him to grow a few inches and play as the interchange emergency.Bring him on in the last quarter to run a muck around the ground taking out anybody that comes in his way.

Anthony's best position is as a defender. When playing in the VFL, he was used as a defender, an well was given 3 straight BOG's. As you can imagine it is nearly impossible to work your way into the Collingwoods backline with Presti, Goldsack, Brown, Reid and Maxwell.

Several posters have heard that Carlton want him as a CHB/FB.

Yes - for god's sake. Everyone thinks he is a forward - he came into the system as a defender and became a forward for a year or two. He will be used as a defender most of the time

If he can play as the tall defender then i say lets do it, its what we have been screaming out for.

he came into the system as a defender and was no good. Tried him forward with a little success but still no good. Please stay away, he's no upgrade on Fisher so I don't see the point in going after him

Totally agree. Straighens us up, Hendo to play CHF where he can use his tank to get up the ground a bit (his main asset is his endurance. He lacks a quick first 20m to get separation on his defender.) and may finally get to see Waitey on a wing. Happy days.

Why would there need to be a third team involved (us) in the Tarrant trade to get it over the line?

If Tbird and Irish leave the club,Jamo and Bower have another injury interupted/poor form season who do we have as back up???
Bringing Gavin Brown into the club maybe behind all this if we cant find ourselves another defender.
Fisher isn't a defender,so no comparison really IMO,plus Anthony is alot faster on the lead and CAN kick over a jam jar.
Worth a third round pick i think.

If we're talking about getting Anthony in as a defender - then I would rather have a crack at Thursfield.

Playing him as a forward is different.

Don't see the point getting someone to play with the Bullants and only get a chance to play seniors if someone gets injured. May as well keep the pick and use it in the draft and hope that pick becomes a regular senior player. If he doesn't then he'll play with the Bullants like Anthony will, at least you're a chance of getting someone to play regular senior football which you won't get with Anthony IMO

I think its a case of showing a little good will. If you help out other teams, they're obviously more likely to be friendly with you when you come knocking. In this case, freo want a 3rd rounder, and the Pies don't have one. We're more than likely going to end up with a couple 3rd rounders as part of any Walker, Sauce and Thorton trades.

As much as I love Fisher (and his hot missus) Anthony has WAY more upside than him. Massive upgrade.

Anthony has played senior football and can be used for depth if needed or he may well blossom at the Blues,who knows?
Or we stick with the later pick and go for someone that may be a gem.
It's all a game of chance i guess.

While I have high hopes for both players, I don't think either are close to being KPDs in the AFL, especially White. We definitely need more cover, because if they're tried and fail, we need more options.

I like Anthony as an option at FF....

Can lead, take a strong grab and is one hell of an accurate kick.

For a 3rd rounder i cant see why you wouldnt take the punt.

He is an upgrade on O'Hailpin and Fisher at the moment, and could release Hendo up the field.
