i have no inside knowledge so feel free to ignore my post... but just because someone is contracted next year doesn't mean they are out of GWS's reaches.

They have 2 years to target uncontracted players... so in the example of Russell (forgetting he loves the blues and doesn't want to leave) he could be a legitimate target of GWS but in 2012 for the 2013 season.

Lets not just focus on 'next year' for GWS.

Picking up Fev would probably be the biggest mistake we could make right now.

1. He will not be as good as he used to be.
2. He will only be around for max 2 years.
3. He will take up someone else's spot who we could use to develop over the next 2 years.
4. He will demand the ball be kicked to him 95% of the time and sook if it isn't.
5. Our dynamic forward line will become one dimensional again.
6. They're just the on-field problems he will bring.

A forward line that kicks one goal for 2 and half quarters is not dynamic.
And for the record, one that struggles to nail the goals that matter.
Definitely room for improvement.

We've had some quality posters advise us that Russell isn't going anywhere, but unless you're really in the know, you're not.
Wouldn't be the sort of thing the CFC would be happily circulating and diversions would be the better way to go for now.

I have been saying for months that Rusty isnt going anywhere. As soon as the first rumours came out I was saying that it was a load of shite.

Guys, Butcher, who knows what? I'd love to get him across, we'd probs have to give up our 1st rounder as Port would be desperate, and if we need it for Mini Bucks then I don't know how we'd do it, but I think the up-tops should be thinking about this because we're one decent big man away from 17!

Sylvia would need to come at a good price for us to be interested, but he would definitely be a good fit.

A nice player to sit at HF and add some quality to the rotations. He'd thrive in our midfield IMO.

At Melbourne they require him to play as a key midfielder and when he has a down game, they struggle. We wouldn't need him to dominate every week for him to be valuable but he has the capacity to pull big games and hit the scoreboard. Without a tag, he could do some real damage.

I'd chase him hard TBH, perfect fit for our midfield.
