I remember that guy... didnt he bring over one of his boys from his previous club who was supposed to play for us for a couple of years and protect a young and exciting prospect... played 13 games, got to 300 and promptly retired...

I also remember us having our draft picks stripped for 2 seasons when he came in and the club having no money to recruit players or improve our coaching department.

Be realistic...none of what happened was Pagans fault...he was thrown into a war zone and had nothing to work with.

Had to use recycled players just to get a half competitive team on the park. Although I agree Martyn was a horrible pick up.

Word on the Draft and Trading board is that Adelaide's contract talks with Jack Gunston have broken down and that the board is having an emergency meeting this weekend about him.

Apparently was a no show at the club champion award or something according to SA media.

Think we will be red hot at Gunston, shown alot of potential

Buddy didn't really look too bad. Looked like a hyper extension rather than a break or an ACL.

You are probably right, cant imagine Waite leaving. I guess we cant expect to get off scott free with the expansion teams so if losing an injury prone and aging Waite is the only casualty then we will do alright out of it.
Fev to Hawthorn is an interest one and it will gather momentum now.

I know Hurley and some of his friends have said that his foot is pretty sore, wouldnt be surprised if doesnt play. Not worth the risk if his foot fractures, look at what happened to Trent Croad.

Yeah apparently Hurley has a hot spot in the foot. He will be playing, said he wouldn't miss it for the world. If anything I think it will help us if he plays injured. Will definitely be hampered by it. He is clearly their most important player. Fair to say he is their best player now as well IMO

Hurley has been hardly training and even in a moonboot at times over the last 6-8 weeks so i wouldn't be at all surprised if he cant get up. however given that they've continued to play him through this period i'd imagine his condition must have worsened this week to miss the most important game of the year.

Given Henderson's new found ability to run off a full forward and rebound id almost rather they send him out to play

On Gunston: I can gaurantee you he is considering a move to Victoria, but that he has not yet made his mind up. Other issues besides homesickness are at play, to do with his personal life.

From my point of view though, not sure we really need him. Not going to be a power forward, and we have Walker playing a similar role at the minute. Would cost too much.

He is only 19 or 20 though, and once he bulks up (pretty light frame still) could become that big forward we need for many years. Think its a better option trying to trade our first rounder on him that an unproven 18 year old. He has shown he can play AFL footy.

He is also 195cm so alot taller than Walker
