I was talking to a bloke at a party recently who is involved in some way with the Hampton Hammers and from what I can gather they will very quickly become a very good football club.
As I understand it, after just one year of a new administration, they have turned a significant financial loss, into a major profit, in just one season. They have started a junior program which culminated in a Colts Grand Final appearance as well as maintaining a strong link with a local junior football club, which will feed their Colts program in future years and as a result, have local people (parents included) committing to many of the required volunteer positions for next year. Their crappy old ground is to be resurfaced and levelled off for next season and by then will be the equal or better of any in the competition and they have just hired a new coach after intrerviewing many high profile candidates, and the new guy is from all accounts of excellent pedigree and are now embarking on an enourmous player recruiting drive. Many others will return to the club as well, and many of theri Colts GF side are to be available to play senior football in 2009 meaning that they will quickly be up and around. I have also heard elsewhere that their plans go well beyond winning a few games in 2009, but include SFL domination in future years the likes of which has not been seen before! From what I can gather they are a famous and proud old club who have awoken and will be difficult to stop once up and running.
Come on House, I've been reading your posts for a long time now, why so quiet on your beloved Hammers???What's going on down there? Is any of this true? Why are these guys suddelnly going so well when so many of their close neighbors are struggling in so many ways? What's the big secret? Can anyone shed any light on this club or it's administration?
Naughty Boy, you make things sound so positive.....who was it that told you so much about our club?
I am not really permitted to say too much, but I am aware that recruiting is the big push for 2009. Look like things are going really well for us for a change. Are we able to recruit you as a supporter for next year?

Congrats on the signings of Grose and White from Mordi will be good pick-ups.Very keen post for October there Mr Hampton?
Going so well, they finished on the bottom & not played a game since.. let's wait til the season commences before getting to carried away.
Don't get me wrong I am all for the Hammers being a succesful club, and I also hear they have turned a few off field issues around/ U18's is also a great achievement.
Having witnessed the same scenario first hand it takes a lot of work to reverse the trend, all im saying is there is a way to go yet..
I wish Ian & his committee all the best![]()

This was in yesterdays Leader......
League to back Dandenong Demons
It’s believed the Demons failed to pay their SFL affiliation and umpires fees this year.
Compounding their financial difficulties, they did pay a handful of recruits. But Dandenong won only four senior games.

YAWN YAWN
Yeah, no worries House, just don't give me any tips for the races.
Just like the above post from this time last year
When your on the bottom of the Sh*t heap the only way for the cub is up, so keep pumping those tyres old boy.
Wake us up when you actually start being competitive in the competition
How long did Bennett last before getting out of the dump - when Hampton VAFA players see the dumpy grounds that are in Div 2 SFL, they will probably jump ship?.
Also wouldn't get excited about any Rover players, the ones that would go across are ones that are too scared of B Grade Ammo footy and look for the easy kick and low commitment. Same old merry-go-round as in '08 House when you posted this one:

Hopefully the next week will allow all concerned to get off their collective asses and show some committment to training and getting all of the off field jobs done or the club could well find itself in the hands of the Grim Reaper. Money not a problem, but lazy f***s a major problem. Any advice from interested observers welcome.
Also, if Allen is a very good coach one in which your current committee appointed then why did you finish on the bottom of the ladder. If its about not having the players then why get rid of him?.

11 teams in div 4. Thats all I know
time will tell. Cerberus and sandown look like they will have teams now so that'll help. The boys are working hard at the SFL so give them time to turn it around. He was talking about southern league not eastern, unfortunately the southern is dieing a slow death.
