BIB, do you know what sort of offer we would be likely to make for either of Salopek or Rischitelli?

Even though he turned us down last year Rischitelli would still be a good player to pick up, has become a very good midfielder this year and has always had a great defensive side.

i mean, i can remember the games he held his own and did well as a lead-up chf (much like some want from lachie and fisher this year), but that was a couple of years ago now, it's hard to know what to make of him without him playing a regular game.

Salopek would be a great addition, hard at it and very skillful. He would add to our midfield rotation and release Gibbs to play more of a midfield role without losing any disposal out of defense. Make no mistake he has a great kick on him and would be a good get for Jacobs.

You forgot Sam Lane...

Salopek would be a great addition, hard at it and very skillful. He would add to our midfield rotation and release Gibbs to play more of a midfield role without losing any disposal out of defense. Make no mistake he has a great kick on him and would be a good get for Jacobs.

They would want more than Jacobs for Salopek.

And they wouldn't take our fringe players.

We don't need another midfielder.

I still can't believe that the club signed off on that trade.

Getting Rischitelli and Bradshaw instead of Henderson and Lucas would have been an absolute disaster for our football club.

Thank god they refused and we got a much, much better deal than what initially looked like going through.

We have a whole lot to thank for Bradshaw and Rischitelli's reticence that's for sure!

There's no chance of Rischitelli coming to the Blues, why would he come after rejecting us last year, and why would we enetertain the idea of getting a bloke who didn't want to join us last year, the only place he would go if he were to go anywhere is the GC as they may have a fair bit of money to throw at him and he won't be going far geographically, he clearly stated he didn't want to come back to Melb cos he was settled up in Brissy

Clearly if he's interested in coming back to Melbourne it will just be due to the fact that the Lions are going nowhere

He didn't want to come to us last year because:

A) He wanted to stay in QLD because he's whipped and thought that he was the only player the GC were targeting from Brisbane (now looks likely they'll take Brennan instead).

B) We asked him to take a significant pay cut.

Salopek openly stated in an interview last week that he was open-minded on a return to Melbourne and was talking to several clubs.
The fact that he is from Melbourne and out of contract probably indicates a 50/50 chance of him returning to Victoria.
