Whispers is right. Harvey to step up to midfield coach :thumbsu:
He's probably off to meditate in the Himalayas, but I'd love to get a bit of Brett Kirk's attitude into our midfield.

First and foremost, we must keep Grigg.
I think those going to GC have known for a while now. Bock can claim he only just found out all he likes. God Jnr Grigg and other players who have not signed have either commited to GC or are playing a dangerous game. IF Grigg goes so be it. I want players that want to play for the navy blue.

Yes, thats really the bottom line isn't it, if anybody wants to go I 'd prefer they do as for whatever reason they're not getting what they want at the Blues and therefore won't give their best.

Drummond would be a good get if we got him cheaply but that's not going to happen. He would be a perfect fit for us and fills a definite need but with his injury worries the risk would far out way the cost to get him across.

Rats is always raving about Drummond when he's fit and playing for them. I have a feeling we might have a serious go at this trade. Not a player who we should give much up for, though we probably will. Too injury prone for mine, and apart from one of the best legs in the biz, his defensive skills and hardness are questionable

- Yes, interested and talking to all of Drummond, Brennan, Salopek and Mckinley (in order of most interest to least). Club want Brennan but wont offer what GC have. Done Deal Brennan to GC unless alot changes. Mckinley has told WC he is leaving at the end of the year.
-Drummond is the main one atm but talking to them all in the hope of landing probably one, maximum 2. Alot of cash to throw round.
-Talking to Everitt, but WB have told him he will play every game next year, so he is leaning towards remaining at WB.
- No, not Quinten unless we fail in trade week, and he is the last resort.
- Walker (Taylor variety) after 2 weeks of consideration knocked back an offer to move to Vic. Staying put.
-Trengrove staying put.
- Interestingly found out the player that Aker was referring to in his infamous article.
-Wiggins will be offered a development role next year, and was told at the start of this year he wouldnt be played in the seniors.

Thanks for the info BB..we all appreciate the inside info. :thumbsu:

I'm pretty happy after reading that :)

Grigg: That would be good news.
Drummond: Well, that may also be good. The rest there isn't a need for.
Aker: Who cares any more?
Wiggo: Best news of the lot :thumbsu: (Well except for Grigg, that is)

I'm a huge fan of Drummond, and living in Brissy I've seen him a lot. I consider him the best kick in the game...BUT I will SPEW if we give up anything more that a 3rd round pick for him. Quite simply he can't stay on the park for more than half a season AND he's not the gorilla KPD we so desperately need. We have enough rebounding type defenders in Russell, Bower, Army, Davies and White. No thanks.

Drummond will be 28 next season, what do people think we will offer Brisbane for him? Hopefully the first round pick is off the table, looks as though we'll be giving up our usual second rounder again, what players of ours would Brissy be interested in though? They don't really need Jacobs.

So does that mean we will not be getting everyone of those players above (except Wiggo)?

What a shame...after reading this thread, I was almost certain we had T.Walker in the bag :D

Thanks for the heads up and making sense :thumbsu:

Wiggins & Fisher :p

As much as he's the type of player we're after, I don't want Drummond.

Given his track record he's more likely to spend more time on the sidelines than on the park. And considdering we're going to have to lure him with a good deal $$$ I don't think he's worth the punt.

Salopek could be a decent get. Had a really quiet year but dominated in early 09. If we could get him I wouldn't be adverse to it.

Would LOVE Jarred Brennan. Has become a gun and a consistent player. We'd have the luxury of giving him stints in the midfield and up forward. But most likely GC bound sadly.

Why?

Why?

We'll just move all of our retiring players into a coaching role because they played for Carlton...

Assuming he wants to move east and is OK, get this bloke...

Shane Woewodin spreads wings as coach
The 34-year-old is being eyed by several clubs as he completes his third and most successful season as coach of East Fremantle in Western Australia.

Woewodin has led a committed turnaround at the once-struggling WAFL club, which is this year set to break its eight-year finals drought.

His prodigies include mature-age North Melbourne recruit Liam Anthony and first-round draftees Brad Sheppard, from West Coast, and Carlton's Kane Lucas.

Sharks chief executive Adam Kelly said Woewodin would be an asset to any AFL club.

"The club recognises that Shane has really developed his coaching skills over the past three years and has matured into an elite coach," Kelly said.

"We support his endeavours to get into the AFL system and we are very grateful for his efforts because he has done a fantastic job.

"He's extremely organised and he's brought a level of professionalism that has enhanced a really strong culture at the club."

I think that Wriggler will do well in the development role.

Would be interesting to get Drummond and Salopek to the club, Brennan is going the money route despite the fact he isnt a top level player.
