Yes, pretty sure I mentioned Lynch wasn't recruited to replace Wood, Wood painfully enough would be better than Witts at the moment at AFL level, obviously won't be like that in the future.

Just think, if Jolly goes down to an ACL or something as terrible next year for a stretch....? It doesn't look good.

Good point about Josh, haven't seen him play but heard about him.

Always thought Fas would suit Did's role perfectly. Elliot might be a medhurst more than a Krak but he looks the goods I think.

if cloke goes down with an acl from the next of next year it doesnt look good either... it never looks good when an important player does his knee but its too hard and such a small chance to plan for it all the time

If we lose Cloke or Jolly to an ACL, regardless of who we bring in, the season is done.

I think Seedsman is someone we need to give every opportunity to cement his position in the 22 from next season. He is exactly the style of player we lack, he has shown great potential, he has a little experience under his belt and importantly he is already on our list.

Sad to see Wellingham go, but at the end of the day he wanted to go leave I guess. Reason is probably money but can be disguised as the go home factor....

Pick 17 seems about right. Pretty happy to have a couple of first round picks.

Geez wouldnt be too dissapointed after the Free Agency and trade if we could secure Young (free agent) & Roberton (3rd Rounder - 58). But want to keep Dawes.

Would leave us with only losing Wellingham and gaining Pick 17, Lynch, Young & Roberton.

Have a good crack at the draft with 17, 19,39. Watch Hine do his magic.

Does anyone know if anything eventuated regarding the rumours of mid season draft to allow the recruitment of state leaguers to cover LTI's?

If that happens we are in a bit of trouble but I guess the silver lining is that we begin to develop Ceglar and Witts as senior footballers which we all hope they will become.

Not sure where to put this but a port poster seems adamant we have told Emmanuel Irra we will draft him with our 3rd round pick if he is there.

he is a majak daw type player from uganda.

Do you have a Link to the Post?

Watched Menzel a lot, lives up the road from me. If he didn't hurt his knee he would be top 10 easily. Worth the risk IMO

his brother has done 2 acl's in like 2-3 seasons of AFL, this kid has ALREADY had a few serious knee problems (including an ACL at 16). Sure he has talent to burn, but its no use when his on the sideline recovering from an ACL.

Its a big risk, is his talent REALLY worth it? (i havn't seen much of him)

Both Browns have done their knees.
Both Hartletts have hamstrings made of soggy pasta.

I think there's a bit there to say genetics play a sizeable role.

Agree that this scenario is a potential nightmare- we are so dependent on both Jolls and Cloke.

I'm really keen on Stefan Martin from Melbourne for this reason (and for Wood to be de-listed altogether). Looking around the league, he's about the closest player resembling Leigh Brown that I can identify as being feasibly accessible to us. He wouldn't be a world-beater, but he's 25 years old, 198cm, mature bodied and good in the air. Old Spice put this package up earlier in the thread:

Interesting that a couple of his best games have been against Freo (w or w/o Sandilands?)

I dont think anything ever came of it, Quicky.

I believe Hardwick raised it, with good premise, but given that we have only just recently brought in free agency, where other codes around the globe have had it for years, i wouldn't expect this to eventuate anytime soon.

In saying that though, virtually every club would have their season derailed if they were to lose their most dominant force for a year.
