Im not an expert, but can structural issues like this be hereditary?

Perhaps a more informed poster will have a better answer, but i would be surprised if this were the case.

If by "Majak Daw type" you mean "originally hails from the same continent", then that description is accurate. Otherwise, it comes across as a little... If not racist, at least leaning in that direction, because he's not originally from the same country, not from the same Australian state, and is a 179cm FWD/MID as opposed to a 196cm RUC/FWD.

It's hardly racist. No-one is being discriminated against here, if anything a lack of discrimination is to blame!

I'd go with "ignorant", which we're all guilty of from time to time, and that's cool providing no-one gets up in arms and we're prepared to learn from our mistakes.

I'm not reading too much into it - There's no reason to compare him to Daw other than broad racial generalisation. If it wasn't your comparison, then you could have quoted the original poster and allowed him to be exposed for the extremely dodgy comment.

I didnt know his height and weight which is why i just went with the comparison from the poster.

Ignorance relating to racial issue = Racism.

I'm not saying whoever originally made the comment is a filthy KKK member, and I'm not saying Slade is guilty of anything at all, but the comment itself leaned that way (note that I said "if not racist...")

I agree that you mentioned the leaning, and I can see where you were going with that, but it's still bullshit to say that ignorance relating to a racial issue is racism. That's from the same nanny state textbook which brought us "Baa, baa, rainbow sheep" in modern primary schools.

Racism implies that a particular race is being viewed in a prejudicial light, whether good or bad. You can hardly be prejudiced against something if you're unaware of it's existence. The poster simply made an incorrect generalisation, nothing more.

If all players involved had white skin, the generalisation would never have been made - I've never heard a small forward called a "Dean Cox type"..

Granted, but you still haven't proven that discrimination occurred. As I said, if he'd shown more discriminating ability then the ignorant comment might not have been made.

I often mistake M & M's for Smarties and vice versa, doesn't mean I don't like 'em.
